Tis the Season

Aug 31, 2006 22:28

It's been a while since y'all have heard from me, huh?

Tis the season for two reasons: One: Fuckin' football season, specifically college football season. It's soo good to have you back, football. How i've missed ye.

(I think I can hear Megan making plans for real estate in front of the other TV now)

The other is that Megan and I are now proud owners of the first season tickets I've ever owned: Triad Stage, one of the local theatres here.

There's a few things that I was thinking I oughta say in here if I update over the past few weeks when I haven't. Let's see.

Propel Fitness Water > Fruit2O

Wawa > Sheetz. But you knew this already. I thought it again when I was in Sheetz trying to decide what drink to get. In Wawa, there is no deciding what drink to get. Just deciding how many to get. I will give shetz the edge on the drunk market though, probably mostly because I've spend little, if any time in a Wawa drunk, while there's been plenty in a Sheetz.

Ove the past few weeks, my skin was giving me fits. It's considerably better, though not perfect, now, but I was having serious issues for a bit of time with dryness, rashing, and ridiculous itching, literally to the point of keeping me awake at night. It was fucking not just with my sleep and my livelihood, but even my self esteem for a bit there, so I'm glad I'm at least somewhat better now, although I fear it could come back. I even spent a week not eating and breads or pastas because one of the things I found that presented with symptoms similar to mine was related to a gluten allergy. Fortunately/unfortunately that didn't do any good--fortunate because at least I know I don't have to amend my diet thusly. And I've got an appointment with a dermatologist, but apparently she's the hottest ticket in town, because my appointment is for the 25th, over a month after I made it.

What else? Oh, I guess since I last updated, most of Welcome Week has come and gone and the school year is underway. So far, so good.

This weekend promises to be a pretty good one. Tomorrow night we're going to the Stomping on the Yard Super Stomp National Step Show Championship right here in the Greensboro Coliseum. Saturday is a Battle of the Bands at a local high school featuring a few high school bands as well as WSSU and NCCU's marching bands (Central marched My Precious [the Zildjian Titanium series cymbals] last year). And sunday and monday? I got nothin'. Well, probably cooking out on Monday, but that's it. How sweet it is...

triad stage, welcome week, football, events, band music, college, step show, work, wawa, sports
