The semester is all over, grades are distributed, and everything's good so far :) I ended up getting an A- in 6.896 (Sublinear Time Algorithms), which I'm very happy about. I definitely had trouble with the proofs in that class; even if I understand exactly why something is true, I have a hard time formalizing it on paper (although I know I'm not alone in having difficulty). I also got my 6.864 (Natural Language Processing) grade from last year finally -- I took the final in January after missing the regular date due to illness, but Mike (Prof. Collins) hadn't graded it until last week. I got an amazingly high grade on that, which gave me an A for the class, phew. I had been a little worried.
In other news, I attended
jpallan and
crschmidt's wedding last weekend, and it was absolutely lovely. Frank came to town to attend also, which made the weekend even better, although I ended up hiding in my room on Sunday night because I couldn't deal with any more socialization.
Finally, my research is going pretty well, I think. I'm having a lot better time of it now than during the semester, although I can't pinpoint exactly why that is. Somehow, it's just easier now. I'll give more details on exactly what's going on a little later.
