Gwen dropped her keys and jacket on the sofa and began stripping off her clothes as she hopped toward the bedroom. She just needed to wash off this slime and she'd be back to work.
Some movement out the window caught her eye: Rhys, down the street, returning from his morning walk with the baby. Gwen watched as he stopped to speak with another buggy-pushing parent. He smiled at the woman's child and made faces; the two adults laughed.
God, he was brilliant. Gwen smiled fondly. She had her own considerable talents, but she'd never survive in pram culture.
