"One of the more peculiar manifestations of counterculture retro fashion in recent years has been the resurrection of Dr. Ernesto "Che" Guevara as a poster/T-shirt boy for...well what exactly? Just as almost none of the yo-yos running around wearing VonDutch T-shirts and trucker hats are aware that real-life hot-rod-artist Von Dutch was reported to have been a virulent racist, and that they might as well pay him homage by wearing Klan hoods, so it is that many of the hipster waifs and the facial-hair- challenged wastrels who love them have little clues as to who Che was, what he stood for, how many deaths he was responsible for-that sort of thing. They possibly have an inkling that his image connotates La Revolucion, which is pretty cool, right? At least a good number of the 60's Che worshipers knew exactly what this comrade of Castro was about and weren't afraid to say so; nor were they afraid of getting their hands dirty, what with them running around and storming college dean's offices and building bombs in their Greenwhich Village town houses. Today's putative Che fans are probably too busy updating the playlists on their iPods to shake up the decadent bourgeois status qou. For them, "The Motorcycle Diaries" will be the film event of the fall."
-Movie Review by Glenn Kenny in Premiere Magazine

whew..i love what this man wrote..its so damn honest and fucking true....i admit the only thing I knew about Che was his image plastered in every dorm room..mostly by potsmoking idiots who only hung the poster or wore the shirt cause it was considered cool...things like that annoy the hell out of me....im going to watch this movie because i want to know who Che really was and why he's considered such a popular icon...it looks really good and thats why i love the quote the trailer runs for it: "let the world change you and you can change the world"

another thing:
"I need a girlfriend. Everyone needs to be in love. If people would experience real love, they wouldn't do so many stupid things. A few presidents in this world really need to be in love."
- Diego Luna
....oh so true...
