The Diana Principle

I've been crushing on one of my med classmates for the longest time. But all of my interactions with him thus far are all of the "hi!"-smile-wave variety. A casual "what's up?" is already lucky. After postponing my actually workin' it with him for five years, I decided to finally ask him out, with total disregard for the currently prevailing "EVERYTHING ELSE AFTER THE BOARDS" principle.

me, texting because there's absolutely no chance we'll bump into each other: hey, have you seen *some random movie*?
him: (he replied!!! my heart jumps with joy) no... why?
me: you want to watch it with me?
....takes forever for him to reply.
finally, him: um... i'm only 80% done with my patho book and i'm about to go into some major brief reactive psychosis here BLAH BLAH BLAH, LONG ANSWER SHORT: NO.

lol, omit the italicized parts. He was pretty gentle.

BUT! My friend Diana once said: "Why wait forever to ask someone out? Just go and ask him, if he says yes then good. If he says no, then move on!"

So, as a new convert to the Diana Principle, I am sooooo moving right on.

There are plenty of fish in the sea, and after the boards, I am so turning into a really grisly bear.

RAAAAAWWWWWRRRR. Girl power yeah.

sometimes hooking up is hard too
