Still Traumatised!

One problem of Mordred's is fixed, but not the other. Gaheris has taken to hiding outside, deep in the forest, because something in it stills his fear and makes it a little easier, just as when it first happened the woods succoured him and shielded him and pushed away his knowledge for a while; he frequently doesn't come back to the house at night ( Read more... )

T: ...sorry I keep throwing her at you. But I do love poor Gaheris.

Cimorene keeps telling herself she's happy. And she is. Which leaves her unsure as to why she needs to tell herself so. But she knows she needs to get out and away, now and then. So she's off on a walk to nowhere in particular.

She doesn't recognize him at first, startled but not scared at the sudden appearance of the figure. But then she looks closer "...Gaheris?"

Typist: That is definitely okay. <33 I love Cimorene. XD

A moment's thought. She's--she's the woman who said she was a friend, who told him of the child. His eyes clear briefly with rememberance, but he still hangs back. There's a graze on his cheek.

She tilts her head and says, without pretense or malice, "...no, I don't think it suits you." She must see how deeply things are wrong, but it doesn't show in her manner.

"Have I gone far?" Latin.

Ah, Latin. She actually knows some, though fluent would be an overstatement. Accented, and a little clumsy in grammar (though not in delivery), she says, "That depends on where you started."

He nods. "Are you--well?" unsure of what he should say.

A small, mixed laugh. "I don't think I know. Are you?"

"Why not?" hesitantly. It's better to fix on this than to think of himself.

"You really want to hear?" She looks a bit skeptical. "It's really a stupid thing to fret over." Or something to that effect, as her Latin skills are slightly limited.

T: Sadly, sleep. To be continued. XD

"What?" He takes a moment to work out her words. "Yes. If you want to tell."

Typist: Okay! ^_^

And despite the fact that he's crazy, or maybe a little because of it, she trusts him. "It's Percy. Peredur." She thinks of how to explain best, in Latin. "I love him. And he loves me. But he can't... can't fully," she makes a face because that's not exactly what she means, but it's close, "and it isn't his fault, but it still hurts." Trying to tell this in Latin is actually good, as the language is distracting her from thinking too hard about what she's saying.

T: ARGH I did it twice. *kicks icon*

Typist: *ded from giggle, hi*

"Oh. I--understand." He uses the Latin 'scio', which besides 'understand' means 'know', which might mean something and might not; and because she's strangely reassuring to him, she makes him less afraid, he offers a hand.

She takes it. Quietly, though Cimorene is seldom soft, she says, "I feel like such a fool."

"I have known much worse fools," slowly.
