- Burn After Reading - reasonably fun quirky romp but as ever not worth the hype.
- The Thing - excellently fun horror film, enjoyed the lovely (and now very dated) special effects.
- The Reader - interesting film. Wish it had developed more of the emotional response to the identity revelation but interesting.
- Defiance - again great film although some of the accents were dodgy as all hell!
- The Beat That My Heart Skipped - Some amazing moments, enjoyable.
- Winter's Bone - Harrowing film but which manages to explore the resilience and resourcefulness of young people.
- Office Hours - quirky comedy shown to me by HaarlemBoy which I thorough enjoyed.
- Midwife - afternoon TV film about the risks of being a midwife in the US and the anti-midwifery stance taken by medical professionals out there. Informative if dully acted.
- Together - a fantastic and amusing look at the problems of communes and new forms of housing/living. Some great moments.
- The Girl that Played with Fire - good follow up, solidly sticking to the books. Enjoyable.
- Gypo - amazing - first Dogme film from the UK and beautifully done. Recommend without hesitation to anyone seeking a different view of issues of immigration, working class identity and escape. Brilliant!
