Spending the long weekend at my parents'! :)

Last night I went with them to my first-ever football game (as in what Americans play with a funny-shaped ball ;) ). We had a friends' daughter participating in the half-time show of the bands, which was the main purpose of our being there. It was a high school game, but it was still fun. "Our" team won 26-7.

It was all in all good fun, except we saw one kid in our team hurt his wrist after a massive tackle, and he seemed to be in a lot of pain. Fortunately they had people on-site that took care of him right away. I just hope it wasn't too bad.

Well, today's been relatively quiet; went with my dad to take both our cars for servicing, and that's been it so far, really. Oh, and I've been reading Treasure Island. :D Yaarr!

Hopefully the rest of the weekend will be eventful (in a good way).

This quote is from a magazine I was reading while waiting for my car to be serviced this morning:

"I had rather be shut up in a very modest cottage, with my books, my family, and a few old friends, dining on simple bacon, and letting the world roll on as it liked, than to occupy the most splendid post, which any human power can give"

-Thomas Jefferson, letter of February 1788.
