Summary: After one date, Jaejoong finds himself unable to be free of Jung Yunho - which isn’t such a bad thing after all.
“I don’t understand!”
Jaejoong’s eyes widened, and he looked around before he gestured for Najung to lower her voice. She frowned at him deeply and took a sip of her coffee irritably, waiting for him to explain himself.
“Yunho’s a nice guy, and we’ve been going out a lot -“
“I don’t like this,” Najung insisted persistently, “He’s just using you so that his image will improve. Jaejoong…you deserve someone better.”
“Like who?” Jaejoong questioned lightly, a smile at his lips.
Najung scrunched up her nose and replied, “Someone...someone like -“
“Won Bin?”
Although Jaejoong laughed, Najung didn’t. She stared at him with an unreadable expression on her face, but Jaejoong simply took it as her being annoyed with him taking her concern too lightly.
Jaejoong laughed, “You’re just too worried for me, as usual,” he reached over and took hold of her hand. He squeezed it in a brotherly gesture, “Don’t worry about me. Even before the whole engagement business, Yunho and I…sort of started a thing. I like him.”
“But -“
“You’re acting so jealous,” Jaejoong teased, “You keep insisting that Yunho isn’t good for me. Do you like me or something?”
Najung froze, and Jaejoong completely missed the guilty expression on his childhood best friend’s face. He laughed and reached over to pinch her cheek, “You’re cute. I love you just like one of my sisters. Stop worrying already.”

“So, when’s the royal wedding?” Jiyong questioned as he watched Jaejoong dress from the latter’s bed. He held up a pair of skinny jeans and tossed them at Jaejoong, “Your non-existent ass looks great in these.”
Jaejoong rolled his eyes and pulled them on, “It’s just a party…besides, why aren’t you going?”
“I am going.”
Jaejoong stopped dressing and stared at Jiyong, “So why aren’t you dressing up?”
“Haven’t you ever heard of being fashionably late?” the other student questioned as he spread himself out onto Jaejoong’s bed, “No, I guess not. Besides, Yunho’s probably just picking you up early so that you two can have a quickie in the backseat of his Mercedes before -“
Jaejoong threw a pair of jeans at Jiyong’s face and blushed hard, “Shut up.”
“As the person who was in charge of you guys getting together, I don’t think you should be telling me to shut up,” Jiyong drawled lazily as he tossed the pair of pants onto the carpeted floor, “You should be thanking me. Yunho’s practically a prince in underwear model form.”
“Najung doesn’t like him,” Jaejoong commented as he examined his outfit in his full length mirror. He made a face at himself before he continued speaking, “I met her today, and she kept -“
“She hasn’t liked anyone you’ve dated,” Jiyong said as he stared up at the ceiling blankly. “Well, I don’t really care about her even if she’s your childhood best friend. I think she’s a bitch.”
“She doesn’t like you either.”
“I can tell,” the younger man replied as he sat up to look at Jaejoong, “Anyway, I think she likes you -“
“Me?” Jaejoong laughed and shook his head, “I don’t think so. Yunho said it was okay if she came to the event later -“
“You invited her?” Jiyong groaned and fell back onto Jaejoong’s bed, “Please don’t make me talk to her.”
“I invited her so that she’ll get to know Yunho better,” Jaejoong replied as he sprayed cologne onto himself. He turned around to look at Jiyong and threw one of his discarded shirts at the slimmer man, “I want them to get along.”
“Well, they won’t,” Jiyong replied before he threw the shirt back at Jaejoong, hitting the latter directly in the face, “Najung’s a bitch, and Yunho’s a saint -“
Jaejoong frowned and tossed the shirt back at Jiyong, “She’s not a bitch…she’s just protective of me.”
“I think you mean overly possessive -“
The doorbell rang, and both of them turned their heads in the direction of the sound. Jiyong sat up and gestured for Jaejoong to leave the room, “Your royal highness awaits you.”
“Shut up,” Jaejoong snapped as he headed out of his room. As soon as he was outside, he quickly turned back and poked his head back into his room, “And get off my bed!”

Jaejoong blushed hard as Yunho’s hand wrapped around his waist, but he said nothing as Yunho led him around the room. They’d been seeing each other almost every day after the day they’d spent at the orphanage, and Jaejoong had noticed that Yunho was becoming touchier with him.
However, he had no protests about that.
The music was loud, and the party was off to a great start. He and Yunho had danced for a bit, and they’d shared a couple of drinks too. He’d been in Yunho’s arms for pretty much the whole evening, and he was so giddy about it all that he was a bit worried that Yunho would practically hear how hard his heart was beating against his chest.
“Is that Najung?” Yunho questioned, his lips ghosting slightly against Jaejoong’s ear and sending shivers down the latter’s spine. “I recognize her from the pictures you showed me.”
Jaejoong turned his head, and his mouth opened slightly when he noticed how short Najung’s dress was. It was a red, flirty number, and he’d never seen his best friend dressed in such a way.
She walked past people, and as soon as she was in front of them, Jaejoong wolf whistled to catch her attention.
“Can’t recognize your best friend?” Jaejoong said with a smile before he moved away from Yunho to embrace her tightly. She hugged him back, and after a few seconds, he moved away to stand back next to Yunho.
Yunho held his hand out, “Hi, I’m -“
“I know who you are,” Najung cut in with a slight frown on her lips. Jaejoong coughed loudly, and she quickly turned her lips upward and shook Yunho’s hand, “It’s nice to meet you.”
Yunho looked at her questioningly before taking his hand away. He turned to Jaejoong and smiled, “Would you like me to get you a drink?” he looked at Najung, “I could get you one too if you would like.”
“Oh, yeah, sure!” Jaejoong replied awkwardly, noticing the slight tension between Najung and Yunho. He glanced at Najung, “I think two blue margaritas would be good.”
“Yeah…sure,” Najung replied slowly before she added, “I could go with you Yunho, if you want.”
“No, it’s okay,” Yunho declined politely, a smile on his face, “I wouldn’t want Jaejoong to be left alone. I’ll get the drinks, and I’ll just find you guys here.” He turned around, and as soon as he disappeared into the crowd, Jaejoong frowned at his best friend.
Najung widened her eyes when he looked at her in such a way, “What?”
“Don’t be mean,” Jaejoong muttered, “I really like him,” he added wistfully as he glanced in the direction Yunho had gone, “We’ve been getting along really well, and I’ve almost forgotten how odd our relationship is…”
“I’ll be nice,” Najung replied, “I’m sorry Jaejoong. I didn’t mean to upset you. You know how much I care for you…right?”
Jaejoong smiled at her, “I know,” he replied, “Anyway…” he wrapped his arm around her waist and began pulling her to the dance floor, “Seeing as it’ll probably take Yunho a while to get back, let’s dance.”
o-o-o
A couple of shots and a few more drinks later, Jaejoong was absolutely sure that Yunho had never looked so handsome and that the room had never been so warm before. It seemed like Najung was equally as drunk because she’d begun to flirt with Yunho slightly.
“Stop it,” Jaejoong hissed as he swatted at Najung in an uncoordinated manner, “Why do you keep hitting on him?”
“He likes me,” Najung whispered back as she pushed him aside, “Just wait until he gets back with our drinks -“
“Should we tell him that we got another round?” Jaejoong asked loudly, “I mean, it was kind of boring to just wait, and we were so thirsty, and I wanted another drink, and gosh, have you noticed Yunho’s mole? I just want to -“
“How many drinks have you two had?” Yunho questioned, two glasses of water in his hands. He set the glasses down, and he frowned at the empty margarita and shot glasses before he pushed the glasses of water at the two friends.
Najung sighed loudly and stood up before she draped her arms around Yunho’s neck and buried her face into his chest. Jaejoong stiffened in his seat, and he watched as she raised her head to look at him.
“Do you know where the bathroom is?” she asked, sounding surprisingly sober.
Yunho blinked, “Yeah,” he shifted so that she wouldn’t be as close to him, but he kept a hand at her waist so that she’d be steady, “I can show you the way.” He glanced at Jaejoong, “Is it okay if we leave you for a bit? We’ll be back soon.”
As soon as they were gone, Jaejoong fidgeted in his seat. He felt his stomach churn, and he ignored the water Yunho had brought in favor of another shot of tequila. The familiar burn made its way down his throat, but it didn’t bring him any relief.
What if something went on between them while they were away?
Jaejoong tried to push the thoughts away, but they refused to leave, and they clouded his intoxicated mind. Before he could even think twice, he promptly left the table and pushed past people rudely to find the bathroom. His steps were unsteady, and he knocked into several people and objects before he finally found his way.
To his surprise, Yunho wasn’t waiting in the corridor. Foregoing common sense, Jaejoong pushed the doors to the women’s bathroom and his mouth fell open as soon as he saw Najung with her arms around Yunho’s neck.
“It’s okay, Jaejoong won’t know -“
“What are you doing?” he shouted drunkenly, his words slightly slurred. He stomped up to them and pulled Najung off of Yunho, “Stay away from Yunho. Yunho and his mole are mine!”
“Jaejoong, nothing happened, I promise -“
Before Yunho could continue speaking, Jaejoong gripped his shirt tightly and pouted at him, “I thought you only liked me. Don’t look at her.”
“I wasn’t, I promise. She just -“
Jaejoong turned around and stuck his tongue at Najung, who was staring at them dumbly. “Keep your hands off my man,” he growled before he turned his head to look at Yunho, “I’m going to kiss you now.”
He leaned his face upward and pressed his lips tentatively against Yunho’s lips before he quickly deepened the kiss and boldly slipped his tongue into Yunho’s mouth. He didn’t care that it was their first kiss, and he was supposed to be shy.
Jaejoong knew what he wanted and that moment, and he wanted Yunho. He couldn’t escape his desire.
Yunho tasted slightly like tequila, and when Jaejoong pulled away from Yunho to catch his breath, his head was swimming and he felt lightheaded.
“Jaejoong, are you -“
Before Yunho could even finish his sentence, Jaejoong wrapped his arms around him tightly and shut his eyes. Yunho felt so warm and comfortable, and although he felt so dizzy, Yunho felt so good against him.
He felt so good that within a few seconds, Jaejoong easily slipped into alcohol induced unconsciousness and ended up slumping against Yunho.
o-o-o
When Jaejoong woke up, his head was pounding. He groaned loudly and buried himself deeper into the blankets, desperately hoping that his hangover would just go away and leave him alone.
“Jiyong, get me an Advil -“
“I’m not Jiyong.”
Jaejoong bolted upright, and he clutched the blankets tightly against his body as he stared at Yunho, who was sitting on a chair beside the bed, clad only in his boxers. His eyes lingered on Yunho’s muscled body before he blushed a bright red, “What are you doing here?”
“This…is kind of my home,” Yunho replied slowly, a smile quirking at his lips. “Don’t you remember what happened last night?”
“What?” Jaejoong squeaked.
Yunho leaned in close and cupped Jaejoong’s face with one hand, “We had a really special night. Are you sure you don’t remember? I made sure to take care of you because you said it was you first time…if you want, I could re-enact what we did last night right now -“
Jaejoong felt his heart pound against his chest, “What? It was my first time doing what?” he squeaked, “But, I’m still dressed and are you saying that we -“
“You changed right after because you didn’t want to sleep naked,” Yunho murmured, his breath ghosting against the skin of Jaejoong’s face, “You were so cute.”
The door opened, and Yunho moved away to lean against his chair. Jaejoong recognized the woman to be Mrs. Jung, and his face turned even redder when she approached him.
“You look so tired,” Mrs. Jung observed as she set down a glass of water and some medicine on the night stand, “Yunho told me that you guys got closer last night -“
“What did we do, how did we -“
“I was so worried when Yunho brought you home unconscious,” Mrs. Jung continued as she made her way around the room to fix a few things. She turned around to look at Jaejoong after adjusting a vase and chuckled, “He wanted to make sure you were okay, but I forced him out of this room and told him to go back to his own.”
Realization dawned on Jaejoong, and he glared at Yunho while Yunho merely smirked, pleased that he’d managed to trick Jaejoong into believing that they’d slept together.
Mrs. Jung made her way back to the bed and smiled, “Well, there’s a change of clothes for you in the bathroom, and breakfast is ready, so as soon as you two are done dressing up, head downstairs, okay?”
Jaejoong murmured a weak thank you, and as soon as the door had shut behind Mrs. Jung, he quickly whirled around and threw a pillow at Yunho.
“I thought I slept with you! Why are you such a player? That wasn’t funny! How could you take advantage of me -“
Yunho pressed his lips against Jaejoong’s shutting up the latter effectively. He pulled away and smiled before he stood up, “Good morning to you too.”
“I hate you,” Jaejoong hissed, “I don’t want to get married to you. I don’t want a player for a husband. You’re such a -“
“Do I need to kiss you again?” Yunho said with a laugh, “I enjoy it, so I wouldn’t mind doing it again.” He sat down next to Jaejoong on the bed and smiled at him handsomely, “I’m sorry, you can’t escape me and my behavior. You and I are together for life.”
“We’re not married,” Jaejoong muttered childishly, “I don’t want to get married to you. Now get out of my room.”
“You can get out of my house then -“
“Well, this is going to be my house too when we get married in the very distant future!”
“Ah, so you want to get married to me now?”
Jaejoong glared at Yunho and shoved him off the bed. He laughed when Yunho hit the floor, and he quickly turned around to look away, but Yunho pulled the covers off the bed and took him into his arms.
“Let me go!”
“I don’t think so.”
As Yunho led him out of the room with him still moving around wildly to get Yunho to drop him back onto the ground, Jaejoong couldn’t help but smile and feel himself accept his fate. As weird as their circumstances were, he couldn’t escape the attraction he felt to Yunho.
Perhaps married life wouldn’t be so bad after all.
