Chapter 363: Little Stranger
Kiki: *working and whistling*
*A little girl enters the store*
Kiki: Well, hi there. I’ve never seen you in here before. But I bet I know what you want…how about a cookie? It’s free.
*The little girl smiles*
Kiki: I’ll think you’ll like one of these; they are usually the kids’ favorites…
Kiki: Here, take whichever you…
*Kiki notices the little girl is gone*
Kiki: …where did she go?
*Taryn enters*
Taryn: Hi, Kiki. I’m ready for work today…and no crying, I promise.
Kiki: …
Taryn: Kiki, are you okay?
Kiki: Something weird just happened. Did you see a little girl come out of the store when you came in?
Taryn: No, I didn’t see anyone.
Kiki: She was here…I just looked away for a second to get some cookies…and then I looked up and see was gone.
Taryn: Are you sure she didn’t sneak in the back?
Kiki: I keep that door locked, for just that reason.
Taryn: That is weird.
Kiki: Well, never mind that now…maybe I’m just imagining things. I’m glad you’re here and you look so much better today.
Taryn: I am, I’m much better.
Kiki: I can stay again today if you want.
Taryn: No, really, that’s not necessary. I swear I’m much better. I talked to Felix last night for a long time so I’m better today. He promised me he’s going to try and come home as soon as he can.
Kiki: I don’t mind staying…
Taryn: Are you avoiding Sebastian or something?
Kiki: Am I that transparent?
Taryn: I’ve known you for a long time now; I can kind of always tell when you and Sebastian are having a…disagreement.
Kiki: He was talking about bonding again.
Taryn: Kiki, you love him. Just…do it!
Kiki: Not you, too!
Taryn: *laughs* Okay, okay…I’ll butt out! You can stay if you want, it’s up to you. I’m fine but if you need some girl time that’s fine, too...
Kiki: I’m going to stay…for a little bit anyway.
Taryn: You can’t avoid the subject forever. Eventually, you’ll have to talk to him and make an actual decision.
Kiki: I know…I know… *sigh*
