This singing went very well tonight, I got a lot of compliments and, "I didn't know you could sing!" :P Well, it's not like anyone would know.
Here's the funny thing: I've been fighting a cold for the past couple of days that has been threatening to take out my voice at any moment. I was freaked out because although I was nervous to sing I was also excited about the opportunity and I really wanted to do it. If my voice gave out, I would be seriously disappointed. I've been drinking tons of water and sucking on throat lozenges to fight it. Well, I made it just fine, my singing voice lasted just long enough so that my husband and I could do the duet. My voice wasn't perfect, I've sounded better while practicing before, but it was just fine and still sounded pretty so I'm happy with it.
About five minutes after singing my voice gave out completely and now I sound like I sing bass rather than soprano. Perfect timing, huh? I'm grateful it waited to give out though or I would be crying now. Instead, I'm just smiling because it's okay...I don't care that now I sound like a guy and could never sing, it held on just long enough, yay!
The cashmere sweater came in handy, the church was freezing so I was nice and comfy and warm. Plus I got lots of compliments on my shoes. :P Sorry I don't have any photos though, we were in a bit of a rush this evening to get there in time, maybe I'll put my outfit back on tomorrow and see about some photos then...
