Harry Potter talk...preparing for Deathly Hollows...THE END...
I feel obligated by forces unknown to make this entry seeing as the seventh...and LAST...Harry Potter book is coming out on Friday. Harry Potter has been part of my life for eight years now, through the best and worst times of my life. During the worst, I always had this magical world to fall into and lose myself in until things picked back up and I seriously doubt I could have survived my teenage years without these books. t's amazing how much has changed, but I still continued loving these books through it all. I will be sad to see it end.
With that said...here we go with some of my predictions for Deathly Hollows and general fandom stuff.
WHO WILL DIE IN DEATHLY HOLLOWS?
- Voldemort will definitely die, which saddens me a little because I have a special place in my heart for the sexy Dark Lord. He's been one of my favourite characters since the beginning, but good wins over evil in the end and I always knew he was going to die.
- Harry. I've thought Harry would die for some time now...maybe about three years. It really all makes sense. Harry has lost everyone he loves most really; his parents, Sirius, Dumbledore...it would probably bring him peace to die. This was my general view before Halfblood Prince came out and we found out about the horcruxes. Now that I know about horcruxes, there's about a 90% chance in my mind that Harry will die. To me, it seems pretty cut and dry that Harry is a horcrux. The scar, the connection to Voldemort, why Voldemort needed Harry specifically to resurrect in the fourth book, the ability of parseltongue...the list is long and the evidence is pretty damn stacked. Harry is a horcrux. And for Voldemort to be killed, all of the horcruxes must be destroyed. So Harry will have to die, if he is indeed a horcrux. I mean, there may be a way he could live, which is my HORCRUX THEORY that I will explain in a moment. But anyway...yeah, I think Harry is a horcrux. But JKR is famous for her curveballs, so you never know.
- Snape. Maybe...there's about a 50/50 chance in my mind.
- Draco. This actually just came to the the other day, but it seems pretty possible that Draco will die because of his association with the Death Eaters. He will either die or go to Azkaban to be raped by dementors...either way, the future looks pretty grim for blondie.
- One of the Weasleys. This is something Joey and I thought up years and years ago like back in 2002...simply because there are so damn many of them! Seriously, there's Weasleys everywhere! I don't see how all of them can make it out alive.
- Ron. See...this would just be cruel and horrible. Hasn't Harry lost enough? Sheesh. But it's possible. JKR did say that some people would absolutely loathe DH, which makes me think it may be Ron that dies, or....
- Hermione. I have the same views about her dying as Ron. They need to stay alive, honestly.
- Hagrid. I've thought Hagrid was going to die for the past two books, but he's hung in there...which is good, because I like Hagrid. But DH may be where his luck runs out. I remember thinking he was going to be the one to get the ax in Order of the Phoenix...my line of thinking while reading that book was this:
OMG IT'S GOING TO BE HAGRID! NOOOO IT'S GOING TO BE MR. WEASLEY! IT'S GOING TO BE HAGRID AGAIN! MAYBE DUMBLEDORE? NOOO HAGRID! ................OMFG SIRIUS!!!!!!! *sobs and cuts wrists*
I was downright distraught when Sirius died. I cried for days...it didn't help that the first time I read that part I was in the middle of the public library with Eric...he gets up for two seconds to go find some gay porn and comes back and I am sobbing like no tomorrow and screaming "WHYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!?" Yeah. Back to Hagrid. I also thought he was going to die in Halfblood Prince, even though I knew Dumbledore was going to die.
- Remus. I WILL HAVE A MENTAL BREAKDOWN IF THIS HAPPENS. Even though he would be back with Sirius. That's probably the only thing that would console me if Remus died. I'm still worried about him because of Wormtail's silver hand...silver kills werewolves. *worries*
There's a few more people I think may die, but these are the main ones.
MY HORCRUX THEORY
So I am going to work the other day and thinking about horcruxes and this thought pops into mind and I was like "Holy shit why didn't I think of this sooner?!" My horcrux theory...
So I came up with this assuming that Harry is a horcrux. Obviously, he will have to die. BUT! What if Harry made a horcrux of himself. In theory, horcrux!Voldemort and Harry's real self are seperate, otherwise, Harry would be completely like Voldemort. It's kinda like a marble in a jar. They're a part of each other but still seperate things. Yeah. So what if HARRY made a horcrux. That way, he could be killed and then his horcrux could be used to resurrect himself, without Voldie inside of him. Solution = Harry lives, sexy Dark Lord dies, Niesa is sad lol.
But the question of this is....if Harry made a horcrux, would the Voldemort!Horcrux part of him go into that horcrux, or stay in his original body?
SNAPE
Most people are pretty set in their beliefs about Snape...either "SNAPE IS GOOD!" or "SNAPE IS EVIL!". I, for once, do not fall into either extreme. I honestly don't know. I think he's about 60% good, 40% evil if it comes down to that but there's other factors and I don't think that Snape can really be seperated into either good or evil. I am still up in the air with this decision...it's one of the things I am most eager to find out in this book.
RELATIONSHIPS
Oh lord, here's where I start my ranting...
BILL/FLEUR - It will work out, she loves him, he loves her. And I think Bill and Fleur will both survive. So it looks like relatively smooth sailing for them. I actually think the book will end with their wedding.
HARRY/GINNY - Ugh...I really do not like this pairing. but it looks like it will happen. That still won't make me like it...the slash fan in me rebels!
HARRY/HERMIONE - This ship has been officially sunk. Deal with it H/Hr shippers.
RON/HERMIONE - It's canon...barring the death of one or both of them (which I think would be cruelly unfair) I'm sure they will sail off happily into the sunset together, bickering about "Hogwarts, a History" =]
HARRY/CHO - Ew. No, never, it's been done, please do not go back to this. I don't like Cho in general...she's the kind of annoying girl that I just want to slap. I hate this ship even more than Harry/Ginny.
DRACO/HARRY - Ahh...I wish. And if JKR weren't so pressured by modern conformity, I think these two would be together.
DRACO/PANSY - Will probably end up happening instead.
LUCIUS/DRACO - Man, you just know this happened >_>
LUCIUS/DEMENTOR - AZKABAN!SEX......yeah.
VOLDEMORT/BELLATRIX - These two totally have SOMETHING! "Bella"...okay, yeah, since when is Voldie the nickname type. The way he calls her "Bella" speaks volumes. And he made sure she got out safely in Order of the Phoenix, even though she was undoubtably punished later for not getting the prophecy, while he left the other Death Eaters there without a second thought. Bellatrix loves Voldemort, no matter how twisted it is, it is still love. She defends him and knows for a fact that she is his favourite, assuming he tells her everything, which very well may be the case. All in all, there is definitely something between these two that is more that just Master/Servant.
REMUS/TONKS - I really liked Tonks before this. But I think Sirius and Remus were/are/always will be soulmates. Personally, I think Sirius and Remus had the passionate true love, and what Remus feels for Tonks is comfortable, friendly love. More like, neither wants to be alone.
SIRIUS/REMUS - Will forever be my OTP. These two were meant for one another. After Order of the Phoenix came out, I compiled a list of proof for this pairing including quotes and things that happened in the book...that list stretched for 11 pages. Now come on...11 pages? You can't bullshit that much proof, no way no how. The two are canon. One of the things that first comes to mind is their joint Christmas gift to Harry. They were lovers and soulmates, I have no doubt.
LUNA/NEVILLE - I'd like to see this happen...they would work well together in a weird, fun way lol.
Whew...with that said...I am going to make a sandwich.
