And there was another poet who said 'Once you're kissed by Amy, tear up the list, it's Amy,' and that was true, too. These poets hit the nail on the head ( Read more... )

Yes, it is - thank you! The change from "tear up your list" to "tear up the list" was enough to keep me stuck in a Google loop.

No worries -- I actually recognized the song from that snippet of lyrics, so I didn't use Google except to find a site with all of the lyrics on it!

Say, aren't you a friend of elanurel's? I'm sure I've seen your username someplace besides here...

Yes, I am, though I don't know her for real, just as a provider of awesome het fic. I thought I recognized your name too!

(Thanks again!)

I can give you all the lyrics to the Ray Bolger rendition of it, if that helps. :-)

No, that's okay (got the full lyrics from another responder), but thank you for the offer! I'm writing a fic where "tear up the list" is left as a clue, and I wanted to know how plausible it would be for neither of my intrepid investigators to know what on earth that meant.

Very plausible - I've known the song for years, but that particular line didn't register at all!

Ha! Well, good to know that I won't be making the characters unforgivably absent-minded.

I remember the song "Once on love weith Amy, always in love with Amy", but had forgotten "tear up the list"! I'd also forgotten that it was Charlies's Aunt - thank you
