As soon as I read that there was a trigger warning for this episode, I started reading all the spoilers I could get my hands on, and then once it aired in the US I read reviews, to make sure it wasn't going to be too triggering for me. So, short version, I got no surprises in this episode, but that was ok.
The beginning felt pretty average, until the people started killing themselves and poor Suzie holding onto her mother and freaking out, right before her mother killed herself. And then it was horrible.
Evil Rowena. But good to see her story finally intersecting with the boys', I guess.
Hurricane Dean blew in, and blew out again just as fast. He's so intense in this scene, like "taking the edge off" made him even more hyped up than before.
He is really cute sleeping with his oversized headphones on though. *hearts*
Researchy Sammy!
I love the transition to the past and then back to the present.
Suzie threatening Sam with a gun through the... what is that flap thing in the door called? It's for letters or something, I guess. Anyway, hahaha!
Dean's hilarious fake fear about the gun was so convincing my sister actually fell for it.
Sister: "Why is Dean so wussy all of a sudden?"
The VFX of the smoke entering their eyes was especially cool.
Poor Suzie. :(
Meanwhile Dean is stuck in not!Purgatory. And in real life there's a dancing Rowena. LOL!
Nasty arm-cutting scenes. These always make me shudder.
I love how, when Dean finally breaks free from not!Purgatory and he's holding the smashed bottle, he looks disgusted by it and nearly flings it away the same way he does with the First Blade.
Because I'd spoiled myself like crazy, there was no shock when Rowena turned out to be a hallucination, but not so for my mum and sister.
Sister: "Dean, why are you just ignoring Rowena? She's right there!"
Mum: "Wait, what? She wasn't real?!"
Brother touching! Dean stroking Sam's hair. Sam trying to stop Dean from stopping him, trying to attack him with a knife but he's clumsy and weak and Dean just wraps his arm and shoves him away, and cuts himself and their blood together is enough to disarm the thing. *hearts all over it*
Poor Sammy's still pretty woozy back at the car, but he tells Dean he's fine, of course.
I love Sam so much for chaining Rowena up. He's not so gullible anymore and it's wonderful to see.
Figured I should get this out there before Monday's new episode, "Angel Heart." It's already Friday. Also, happy May, everyone! I'm going to my first SPN convention this month. :D
