Yesterday. We had a big family breakfast in the hotel dining room, and then some swimming, followed by a short baby nap. The baby isn't sleeping particularly - short naps preceeded by lengthy rocking. This is the new normal.
On Beth's advice, I called the Kystrals again, and they had my hat, so we arranged to go and get it. We were due for pre-wedding photos at 2:15, and we were almost late. A quick set of snaps, and then we gave the big kid and her California cousin their presents - Lora found a good price on "make your own pearl necklace" kits - you crack open an oyster to get a pearl, and then you put the pearl into a little pendant. Our pendant was tricky to open, but we got it eventually. We drove around a little, and then returned to the wedding.
Big Catholic wedding, and, as direct family, we were seated fairly close to the front. I had baby duty, since Lora had baby duty the last time a wedding and a baby coinciced (that would be M's wedding), so I listened to the wedding from the "mothers and babies" pew to minimize disruptions. The baby liked singing to the organ, and wasn't fussy so much as she was loud. More photos after the wedding, and then Lora and the baby and I retired to the hotel for a short baby nap, and then we headed out for the reception.
There was no cake smooshing at the reception - I think that whole thing has passed, thank goodness. The food was good, the band was good, and there were humming birds. We came back to the hotel around 9, the big kid swam in the lighted pool for a bit, and we finished up some laundry (so we have clothes for the rest of the week, yay!).
I don't think we're drinking enough water. It's damn hot, and I feel a little off. Which may be the whole wedding and trip thing, I don't know.
Anyway, we're here today and tomorrow, flying out Tuesday. Tomorrow we're doing the aquarium, which is supposedly a full day thing - today we're doing low-key stuff. Maybe a self-directed driving thing.
