So I'm married....holy crap! The past week is such a blur its incredible! But Saturday is clear as a bell....although when we see the videographer's footage I'll probably realise I missed a lot....but it was such as amazing weekend! Thank you all for being there, it meant so much to us to see all our family and closest friends....words truly can not express how greatful I am that everyone was able to make it and share our special day.
Friday was completely insane! From running last minute errands to lunch with mom, A, Tricia and Meghan to rehersal to the dinner (with more laughter and tears than I could have every imagined) it was simply nuts. Afterwards Nick came home and we exchanged gifts before he headed to Johnston for the night. My cousin Meghan stayed here with me and we fell asleep after painting our nails while watching "The Great Muppet Caper." After I heard her snoring (softly of course lol) I turned the movie off and saw some of Conan before dozing off a little before 1. 4:30ish I woke up and could not fall back to sleep which sucked royally.
The morning went by quickly between hair appointments (complete with DD and mumosas) and doing my makeup and Mandy's and getting ready. All the girls were together around 12 and by the time the photographer came around 1 we were all sitting calmly in the living room. Apparently, according to him, this was not normal.
Fast forward to the church where for about 10 minutes I found myself alone in the limo, this was probably the only time all day I felt nervous. But once I was able to get inside and see Nick I felt better, I was completely calm again by the time I got to the alter.
The ceremony was beautiful, all the readers did a great job and the music was amazing. Pictures were...um...an adventure. There is just something pretty funny, in hindsight, about watching everyone climb the rocks on the beach in their dresses and tuxes.
The reception was awesome, great food, wonderful music, amazing company...what could be better. And our first dance was a big hit. The only "problem" with the day was Slim's shoe completely fallin apart, minor technicality.
By the time we got to the Hilton for the night we were exhausted...but the night was still great....even though it took over 20 mintues to get the pins out of my hair.
Sunday was brunch and family time...fun though exhausting.
Yesturday was busy....errands and such, but it was great to have another day off!
So in short, thank you everyone, for making our wedding day so memorable!
