Ever had one of those weeks when you are waiting for colleagues to supply you with information so you can do your job? Well I am this week and my mood is deteriorating because of it.
Being a simple soul, I primed the pump for the data I needed and warned my colleagues that I certain external reporting exercise was imminent and would they please supply me with the current data per the last exercise. Deathly quiet followed.
Then the official exercise was announced, with the deadlines. The echoes are still reverberating.
Yesterday I managed to see one person whose data is crucial. He blythely informed me he had been asking what the exercise's deadlines were - and getting no response. Mercifully, the personal blue touchpaper was damp otherwise there might have been a volcanic incident.
Am now down to massaging and manipulating data in one week when I had allowed for two. The wailing and teeth gnashing have been sub-contracted as I won't have time to do it myself.
Candle; burning at both ends; here I come.
