Получил е-письмо от ректора ведущего китайского университета. Выдержки:
...Мои предки были иммигрантами, пришедшими из Израиля в столицу государства Династии Сун* Пун-лян, известную сейчас как Кайфен. В это время в Китай прибыло около 20-ти тысяч еврейских иммигрантов... Впоследствии их фамилии китаизировались и превратились в Чжао (赵)、Гао (高)、Ай (艾)、Ли (李)、Ши (石)、Джин (金) и Джан (张). Кроме Чжао - имени императора Династии Сун, остальные шесть имён являются производными первых букв еврейских фамилий:...
Гао - Голдсмит, Ай - Исаак, Ли - Лави, Ши - Шломо, Джин - Гилад, Джан - Цви.
... Мы до сих пор соблюдаем некоторые традиции: обрезание, отказ от употребления свинины в пищу и празднование Песаха...

After I distributed Technion President Peretz Lavie’s email to many of my friends worldwide, I received one from a friend, a Professor Jin Yuan-Shen. Professor Jin is Professor of Mechanical Engineering (a rheology specialist) of Beijing Tsinghua University.
I extracted and translated the section of his email which I believe will be of interest to you.
“My ancestors were immigrants who came from Israel to the Capitol of the Sung Dynasty’s Pu-Liang, now known as Kaifeng. At that time, there were some 20,000 Jewish immigrants and they numerous family names. Later on, these family names became Sino-lize as Zhao (赵)、Gao (高)、Ai (艾)、Li (李)、Shi (石)、Jin (金)、Zhang (张)。Except for Zhao (赵), a surname bestowed by the Sung Emperor (that is the surname of the Emperor)，all six other names were derived from the first sound of the Jewish names. Of course, after nearly a thousand years of transformation and fusion, we have been thoroughly became “Chinese.”However, the family history archives remain. In fact, even to this day, we keep some of the Jewish traditions, such as circumcision for boys, no pork consumption and the Jewish tradition of “Passover.” “
