Working on that Riley/Remy/Peggy fic. Somehow managing to work on "Closing Time" and "Stolen Tarts: Sibling Rivalry" at the same time while also working on a favour for Katt.
Have spent the last week throwing up more than I'd care to admit, fighting off lightning headaches, and ignoring back pain. Have also been working almost every day.

"Who's buying tonight?" Pepper asked, at which Moneypenny answered without missing a beat.
"I believe it's Nicky's turn."
Nicky dug around in her purse to pull out her wallet as Pepper turned to the bartender. "A kamikaze, please."
"Rusty nail," Moneypenny followed. "Neat."
"And for you?" the bartender asked Nicky.
"Irish coffee."
Nodding, he turned to go about mixing the drinks. He moved quickly, and within two minutes the three drinks were in three sets of hands.
"Alright," Pepper said, the focus now on Nicky. "You first. What's the latest?"
"Apparently, there's a new Blackbriar upgrade that's come to light -- Operation Outcome. Jason found out, and it looks like he's coming out of hiding to kill people."
Moneypenny's mouth twisted thoughtfully. "Wasn't his plan to avoid government involvement and any real notice?"
"Apparently, black ops squads rub him the wrong way. Especially ones that look like they're targeting the younger set."
There were understanding hums all around.
"Nothing's certain on that front, obviously," she continued, "but he's trying to get me to help him get in touch with Landy."
"Best of luck regardless of whether you do or don't," Moneypenny said, running her finger around the rim of her glass.
"How are you doing?" Nicky asked in turn.
"Ah. James." She paused to take a sip of her drink, obviously enjoying it. "James has found out where I went to university, and is now trying to track down my military records."
"You look like you're taking that pretty well," Nicky observed, a little surprised.
"I know he attended Eton College as a child, that he failed Maths twice, and that his mother was Swiss and his father Scottish. That puts me a little up on him still, which suits me quite nicely."
"You scare me sometimes," Pepper said after a couple blinks.
"And Tony? How is he?"
Pepper's laugh was low and rueful. "He got in a fight with Captain America yesterday. Got drunk afterwards, and started drawing up plans for a time machine in order to go back in time to punch his father in the face for helping Steve."
"How's that going?" Nicky inquired. She paused. "Or do I even want to know?"
"He was arguing about the space-time continuum with either Jarvis or the toilet. It wasn't really clear."
The women gave a collective sigh.
"To idiots, as always," Nicky proposed, raising her mug.
"To idiots," Moneypenny and Pepper replied in unison, raising their glasses.

God, I love them. Thanks for giving me the chance to write them, not just individually, but together!

Tony has yet to actually read through his company expense reports, since it's Pepper's job. Nicky has hidden any and all activity on her part from the Agency while still managing to stick their drink tab (as well as the occasional meal out) to them. And Moneypenny? M probably encourages it.
