A grin of shadows press my face. I am a forger or a fake.

The lovely Mercedes introduced this meme, and I've decided to help it 'make the rounds' as it were.

Give me the name of one of my ships. I’ll put my MP3 player on shuffle and make a graphic based on the song. (Optional: I'll also write drabbles for each ship/song combo.)The usual fandoms are open for business ( Read more... )

i spend too much time online, percy fails at life again, with friends like these, fanfic, shut up music is my boyfriend

James was never sure if he was supposed to hate or love Venice. He passed through the city on occasion, and never quite got to an answer outside of always leaving with a jaw that ached from being clenched ( ... )

A Mess, I Guess lithiumlaughter August 24 2011, 06:27:45 UTC
For a while, she’d actually thought there’d been something there.
She’d managed to get past the kidnapping and their violent confrontation in the train. They’d even talked some to the point where she had been growing less and less leery of him. Hell, the two of them had even made a fairly good team taking on the Rippers at the jazz club.
Rogue had even been willing to give him the benefit of a doubt with the whole crime family thing too. She didn’t come from an exactly perfect pedigree herself. He’d been right; the two of them had been down the same roads.
And then she absorbed him, and everything she’d believed fell apart.
She paces restlessly by the edge of Bloodmoon Bayou now -- just out of the sightlines of the cameras, of course - with his betrayal fresh and cutting. It plays over and over in her head: you’re not a friend, he used you. You’re not a friend, you’re a way in.But as she paces, his memories sort themselves a little more ( ... )

OMG That last line was so, so perfect. I love these two and love this little snap. Them in all their broken glory.

Thanks kindly for your praise! I'd always wondered what went through Rogue's head in "Cajun Spice" that made her go back for him, and the song that came up pretty much told me, as it were.

Broken glory. YES. That's exactly it. And between you and me, that last line's my favourite too. ;)

Hmmm...I don't know if you write them, but I'd pick X-Men, Erik/Charles. If not, let me know, I'm sure I can think of more;)

X-Men: First Class?

I can give it a shot, but hit me with a secondary just in case.

I like your icon! Yes, X-Men:First Class. As secondary, how about Bourne, Jason/Nicky (I realize I don't really know what your ships are, so again, feel free to tell me to screw off;) )

Nicky should have known better. She was acutely aware of it as soon as she’d cast her lot with Jason, but it was Jason and goddammit if she still wouldn’t do anything for him after everything that had happened ( ... )

I shall have to return to this sometime next month when I might have two seconds to myself. :(

But in the meantime, how about some semi-incestuous Juliet/Tybalt? (either the Zeferelli movie version, the one with DiCaprio and Danes, or straight-up text based)

Ooooh, darling, you just hit on my favourite ship in the entire play...specifically in the Zeferelli version.
I adore me some Romeo/Mercutio too, oddly enough.
Expect to see your story soon.

Let You Smell What They Consider Wrong lithiumlaughter August 24 2011, 19:07:30 UTC
Tybalt has grown up looking out for his little cousin. It's what's expected of him. Not that he really needs much encouragement - it’s Juliet, and that’s all the reason he needs. He’s her self-appointed shadow, and he loves her. She’s his cousin. She’s Juliet.
Love.
That’s dangerous word and a slippery slope. Those slopes by their very nature are difficult to navigate, but he tries. For the most part, he even manages to trick himself into thinking he’s got it all under control. Juliet needs someone to look out for her, and that’s him. That’s all.
His efforts suddenly seem to mean nothing once he sees her at the ball. His attempts to be the good man start to fail when he sees her dancing with Paris (it’snotjealousyit’snotjealousy), not when he realizes the Montagues have crashed the party, and not when he sees that bastard Romeo looking at her like thatShe’s changed after the ball. She smiles more, smiles differently ( ... )
