Flist, Romans, Countrymen? Lend me your expertise.

My genderswapped X-Fic came a-callin’ today. And Riley!Muse is kind of scaring the hell out of me.

To borrow a format from Katt…

Riley: AHEM.

Percy: Yes?

Riley: You need to talk to him. NOW.

Percy: Who?

Shmoopy is for you to decide, but I'm feeling New Order's "Waiting for the Sirens Call."

Or "Turn." But that's more the opposite, which tends to be my forte.

Or, you know. A lot of their stuff.

Oh youtube. What did we do without you?

And oh how I miss it. 'Cause you never know when you NEED to hear Fanny Lu's "Tu No Eres Para Mi."

I'm just saying. It happens.

Is it sad that I remember discovering youtube, and spending my first year of university watching cartoons and anime?

It was beautiful. And still is. I think we all owe a huge debt to its creators.

Sounds about right.

I remember way too many a night saying "alright. Just one more episode." until it was say, six in the morning?

Mercifully I was working nights then.

Yep. That was exactly it. My roommate and I never made it six in the morning; we made it to two, three a couple times at our worst.

Well, to be fair, at the time I wasn't getting home from work until say, 1am, and didn't have to leave for work the next day until say, 2:45. 3 if Passions was especially spectacular.

That works out about roughly the same to my sleep-addled brain.

I could not do that again if I tried, though.
(Just not as young as I used to be, shake my walker, etc.)
The very thought of getting caught up and staying up to watch something and then attempting to teach teenagers after three, four hours of sleep is one that honest-to-goodness horrifies me. I get this image of me just being reduced to a caffeine powered zombie who just screams "BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAINS" a lot instead of looking at gender depiction in Macbeth. Eeep.

Well. Nowadays I try to be well rested.

I still tend to make bad decisions. IE, going to work when called in on 3 hours of sleep. But still.

Thankfully I (basically) get paid to watch TV and not something more important so I can get away with late hockey games and other terrible decisions. Which isn't to say my job isn't important. It's just less 'shaping the future generation' ... or something.

I tend to think of myself as being fueled by caffeine and rage. So when I'm on low sleep, it sucks. But at least I'm not spending too much time thinking way too much about S#@$ no one else cares about. Like when I have an off day and spend it sitting around contemplating the morality of video game characters and so on.
