I'm just warning you all right now that this is gonna get pretty long
My mom picked me up from school Friday morning at like 9 and I went home and took a nap for a little while til my brother got home with the car. Also I played drums with my new metronome. There's nothing like trying to play to a click to make you think that you suck :-/ Then I left and met Rachel at her mall and we went shopping a little cuz I need some new tight tshirts. All mine now are like mediums and larges. I found a cool one in American Eagle. But she was tired so we went back to her house after that and just chilled the rest of the night. We finally got to give each other our rings!!! Everyone's been asking us if we're engaged. As if we'd do such a thing O:-)
We had to take her brother David to baseball practice Saturday at noon so after that we went shopping a little at Walmart and then went to see Old School. It was really funny. I was impressed. Then we went home for dinner with her family and out to try to play miniature golf but it was closed so we got ice cream instead. We watched the Ring. Awesome movie, really scary. We also stayed up talking way later than we should have. It was really cute though cuz we realized later that that's what we'd done exactly one year ago (March 22nd) cuz I asked her out later that night/morning at 5:20 am.
Sunday morning Rachel had to work from 6-10 am so that sucked but I just slept the whole time she was there. Ooh then we got up and we made french toast all by ourselves. I was so proud of us. We watched Big Fat Liar and then we were just watching TV and Rachel fell asleep with her head in my lap. I was watching basketball, and let me just insert my picks here for anyone who cares. I had Kansas over Wake in the finals with Kentucky and Texas also in the Final Four. Luckily I was smart and didn't enter a pool this year after losing money each of the last two years, cuz I would have lost this year again thanks to Wake losing already. Of course I'm routing for Maryland to go all the way again. They looked really good against Xavier so its possible.
Later that afternoon, we went over to Rachel's aunt's house to celebrate her grandfather's birthday. I got to meet all her extended family for the first time including lots of cousins and their little children. I had fun playing with the kids even though it wasn't for long. As far as I could tell her family liked me. I definitely think I made a good impression on her grandfather's fiance which is who we were most worried about cuz apparently she can be a bitch but she seemed nice to me. I'm definitely getting closer to her immediate family too. Her mom really likes me, David and I bonded a lot over the basketball games, and I've actually started talking to Rich now too. When we got home we watched Joe Dirt and Insomnia to fall asleep to. Wasn't real impressed by either.
On Monday we slept in and just layed around most of the day. It was really great though just being together. I was thinking to myself that this is exactly what life is gonna be like in a few years. Cuz we were just together having fun the whole time. Which is a change cuz we're usually out doing all this stuff but it just felt perfect to relax and be together and do whatever we wanted the whole weekend. Eventually we decided to go to David's baseball game, which winded up being cancelled cuz they didn't have an umpire. I volunteered to umpire for them but after saying that I call the strike zone as being as large as the backstop I don't think they wanted me. Then we went shopping again and I bought more tshirts. Came home, played basketball with David, had dinner, watched Boston Public and for some odd reason Married by America too. I'm routing for Kevin and Jill for anyone who watches that. Then we started watching Aladan and just crashed.
Tuesday morning Rachel had to be at work at 9 so we got up early. Unfortunately it was time for me to go. It was seriously like THE most awesome time the entire weekend though. I know this whole thing sounds sappy but I don't care. It's true. I always have such a great time with her no matter what we're doing.
So I drove home and took a shower and then met Mike at the gas station to drop off my car to get its oil changed. Then we drove out to see his new love interest, Hilary. So I got to meet her and her two sisters Brooke (older) and Alison (younger). Me, Mike, Hil, and Brooke all decided to go to Patapsico Park to eat a picnic lunch. After that Brooke and I went climbing all over on the rocks and stuff, which was pretty fun. Then we left and went back to their house to hang for a little while. I got hit in both the eye and crotch with a football by their little brother. But I mean, I totally deserved it. I was being a dick cuz I didn't wanna play with him. That totally deserves a football in the eye, right? Hilary's cool though cuz she likes the Early November and Starting Line. We're all really hoping that things work out well between them. They really like each other, which is awesome. I hope it lasts.
Then we picked up my car and I came home in time to watch American Idol. I was a little disappointed with Clay's performance. He picked a bad song to sing, but he's pretty popular so I'm sure it won't hurt him too much. It seemed to be the night where some of the most popular singers (Clay, Kimberly C) didn't do too well and the worst ones did better than usual. I thought it was hilarious how everyone was telling Julia that she sounded horrible, but it was still her best performance yet. Here's my summary of last night's performances in the order of how well I thought they did: Kimberly Locke, Ruben, Josh, Ricky, Corey, Tamyra, Clay, Carmen, Kimberly Caldwell, Julia. And here's what I think the top 10 should be in order: Ruben, Ricky, Clay, Kimberly Locke, Josh, Kimberly Caldwell, Tamyra, Corey, Carmen, Julia. We'll see how it turns out though. I'm still with Clay to go all the way and Kimberly Locke to do good too.
This morning, Mike and I went to College Park / Greenbelt to look at apartments for next year. We found some really good ones and some really bad ones. Out of the four we got to visit and talk to people and look at model rooms, we definitely narrowed it down to two. We're leaning towards one (Seven Springs) just cuz its easiest to get to (less than a mile off Route 1) and closest to everything we'd need including the school, a grocery store, and the Laurel restaurants where I'll probably be working starting this summer. The other one (Glen Oak) seems really good too though, especially cuz it has a washer and dryer in the room which is different from the other places. Seven Springs is a lot cheaper too cuz they give student discounts if you apply early (which we did). We'll just have to see how things shape up though.
My plans for the rest of spring break? Not really sure. Tomorrow we're supposedly going to Ocean City for the day. We was supposed to mean me, Mike, Hilary, and Shannon but Shannon unfortunately can't come now cuz she's a loser so I dunno. We need to find someone else to come cuz I definitley don't want to go with just them and be a third wheel the whole day. All high schoolers are ruled out cuz we're going early. Then Friday Rachel's coming over early and we'll be going to the Salvation Army show. Saturday will be band practice somewhere, maybe through Sunday, maybe not. We'll finally be writing new songs again which is exciting.
