I finally got my first tattoo three days ago, and I decided to stay small and simple for my first one. I did have some issues, so I have a few questions under the cut if anyone would mind answering.
i agree with some of the above comments, i like the look of it the way it is, but i also understand the desire for super crisp text, so hopefully i can help a little.
i have a tattoo on my back that did the exact same thing. it wasn't too noticeable at first, because of the blood/ink residue/etc, but once it healed, it was definitely spotty, and got progressively worse. i also had a tattoo artist blame my skin (i am fairly pale, bruise easily, heal rather slowly...all of the above), but a good artist won't deny you a touch up just because of how your skin reacted. there is nothing "wrong" with you, all skin reacts differently to tattooing.
anyway, i had the tattoo touched up about 6 months later (i was away at school and wanted to wait to have it touched up at the same shop) and it's fine now. everything took the way it was supposed to and has remained consistent for the past 6 years.
if this is what yours looks like now, it's not going to get any better, and could potentially get worse. if you're unhappy with it, just make sure to let it heal completely and then go in for your touch up. hopefully you won't have any problems with it after the second time around.
p.s. just because this tattoo reacted like this, it does not mean that ALL future tattoos will react this way...the one i had problems with was also my first, and i have been tattooed since then with no issues. so if you're considering more, don't worry that anything you ever get will do the same and you will always have to get them touched up immediately. there's a pretty good chance this was a one-time thing.
I'm glad you said that, because that was one of my worries. I have all of these lines from books planned out as tattoos and this was just a tiny one to start me off. I felt like all my dreams had been crushed because I couldn't get any more haha. Thank you!
