Can't believe it's taken me so long to find this place. I really need some help/advice. For what feels like forever now I've been trying to deisgn a tattoo based on Nabokov's Lolita. Because of the tricky subject matter, I'm finding it near-impossible. I don't really just want a picture of the girl as it's too vague but anyone who knows the book will know it's written from the perspective of a paedophile! So what on earth can I get?
I was thinking of getting this quote from the book:
"A change of environment is the traditional fallacy upon which doomed loves, and lungs, rely"
But I'm quite a little girl & not sure how or where I would put that amount of text? I would want it quite small but I know font tattoo's can't be too small or it will blur.
Whenever I discuss this with anyone they say "ooh get Lolita in those heart sunglasses in the film" - I have never seen the film & never intend to! So I think you literature kids will hopefully be more able to help!
