i've posted here once before when i shared my samuel beckett tattoo ("i can't go on, i'll go on" on my collarbone), & i also shared an idea i had about sleeves that are a quilt of different literary quotes. the sleeves are being designed as my little fingers peck away at this keyboard, but while that's being carefully plotted out, i've got an idea in between that i'm really in love with, & i'd really like to hear some feedback from fellow bookworms:
A Dream for Winter
by Arthur Rimbaud
In the winter, we will leave in a small pink railway carriage
With blue cushions.
We will be comfortable. A nest of mad kisses lies
In each soft corner.
You will close your eyes, in order not to see, through the glass,
The evening shadows making faces.
Those snarling monstrosities, a populace
Of black demons and black wolves.
Then you will feel your cheek scratched…
A little kiss, like a mad spider,
Will run around your neck…
And you will say to me: “Get it!” as you bend your neck
And we will take a long time to find that creature
Which travels a great deal.
i plan on getting a small lip/kiss print toward the bottom of my neck, above my collarbone, slightly down the front of my shoulder, with a tiny black spider spindling a web on it. this will represent the underlined portion of the poem. what do you all think?
p.s. i'll be sure to post a picture once i get it.
