OMFG SO AWESOME OMFG!!!
WHY MUST WE WAIT FOR MORE NEW EPISODES?! Dammit, I HATE the writers strike! *kicking things* Stupid producers! Fork over the cash! *kicking more things!*
I just... holy crap, I don't know where to begin! How to encapsulate everything that was awesome in this episode? Can it even be done? I'm too emotionally wound up for anything approaching intelligent thought, but I'm going to try!
1) Who died?
Let's start with the obvious: WHICH TWO HEROES DIED? Maya died, but she came back to life. Niki appeared to get blown up, but we didn't see the charred remains of her corpse. And Nathan got shot twice in the chest, but again, we didn't see him die, and the newscaster said only that he'd been shot twice, not that he'd succumbed to his wounds. All week they've been telling us that two of our heroes were going to die, so which ones were they? I'm going to say that Maya was one of them, because we SAW her die, then be brought back to life. But I'm not sure about the second death. The fact that we didn't see Niki die leads me to believe she isn't dead, or if she is, that she might come back.
As for Nathan, again, we didn't see him die. I think it's very possible he WILL die, but like Sylar be revived by Claire's blood. Claire's going to learn her biological father has been shot and killed, she's going to know she can bring people back from the dead based on Noah's experiences, she's going to get her ass to Odessa and bring Nathan back to life. Talk about outing evolved humans! When you bring a man back from the dead, that's pretty much guaranteed to draw international attention.
To those who are going to say that Peter can save Nathan with his blood, I don't think so. Let's not forget that Peter's inborn ability is empathy, not healing. The power that courses through his veins and that's been with him since birth is that empathy, not all the other powers he's absorbed. Which is something that's always interested me -- if Sylar were to eat Peter's brain, would he inherit all of Peter's absorbed abilities? Or just his empathy? I know Sylar thinks he'd get all of Peter's powers, but I'm not so sure.
2) Who lived?
Key survivals in tonight's episode:A) Elle - YAY! Elle survived! And she's starting to show signs of being conflicted with her role in the company and her relationship with her father. AWESOME. So many ways her storyline could go; I certainly hope she's back in Volume Three!
B) Adam - HEE! Very convenient that Adam survived, eh? Yes he's buried six feet underground, but anyone who's seen Buffy knows that that doesn't really mean anything when someone's really motivated. He'll find a way out, even if he doesn't have Buffy's super strength. And boy, will he be PISSED.
C) Sylar - Was there ever any doubt? Sylar's back and better than ever! I'd like to see a three-way conflict in Volume Three, with Sylar on one corner, Adam on another, and all the "good guys" on the remaining one. I don't think Sylar and Adam could ever team up to be evil together; Sylar would be too intent on getting Adam's ability for himself, and neither of them seem like the type to share power. And seriously, how cool would it be for Peter & Co. to team up with Sylar against Adam? HEE!
D) Maya - Maybe not as significant as the previous three rescues, but still fairly important. Now the good guys have a hero with a truly devastating ability on their side. Though honestly, how frigging cool was it when Sylar shot her? He didn't even think twice about it. Maya starts yelling at him, he rolls his eyes, spins around, and shoots her. Fricking AWESOME.
E) Monica - Again, not hugely significant, but if Niki IS dead, Micah's going to need someone he can trust and rely on in the months to come. Monica's like his big sister, and he's going to need that support.
3) Who's gone?
WEST. Thank you, Lord, West is GONE! And he has absolutely no reason to ever come back! Except to be killed by Sylar so we can have flying!Sylar. HEE!
4) AWESOMENESS
I can't even begin to touch on all the awesomeness, so here are just a few of my favorite moments:A) Nathan carrying Matt to Odessa - "Let's never talk about this ever again." Holy shit, I busted various internal organs from laughing so hard. *dies!*
B) Badass!Peter blowing shit up - Yeah, that was all kinds of incredibly AWESOME. When Peter and Adam were striding down the Primatech hallway, taking out guards and blowing up alarms, I nearly wet myself from the awesome. I desperately, madly, crazily want some evil!Peter in the near future, preferably with Claire as the only person who can bring him back from the darkside (because this is me, and that's what I do).
C) Sylar - Because Sylar is never NOT awesome.
5) QuestionsA) What did Bob make our beloved Noah promise to keep his family safe? What could Mr. Bennett possibly contribute to the Company that would make such a deal possible? *WHIMPER*
B) Are Nathan and Niki dead? And who was the phantom gunman that shot Nathan then walked away so casually? What's his relationship with Angela?
C) Will Elle reform and turn good? Or is she too far gone in her psychoses to master her darker tendencies?
D) Will Peter and Claire ever find out they're not related and mack like bad-boy sex monkeys? *cough* Sorry. Couldn't resist. *sly wink*
So many questions, SO MUCH TIME to discuss them until the next episodes are filmed and go to air. *SIGH* I am so depressed right now, i want to cryyyy. :( I want my Heroes!
