Oh wow, this was such an amusing entry. Y'know, if it was slash fic, then the girlfriend probably DID turn out to have the forces of evil up her skirt, metaphorically. Haha. Women are often evil-ified or unfulfilling in slash. Hee.
Yes! I agree. They're often either terrible banshees who repress our gay heroes purely because they're unfortunate enough to be their girlfriends, or they're insufferable Mary-Sue straight-best-friends-called-Raven-with-issues-and-abusive-boyfriends. Bah.
But, ooh, does this mean the next time you write bodyjar ficlets, there'll be a spaceship involved? And are Kelis and Nas gonna fight evil droids together? Hurrah!
That's why femslash got invented. Well, I mean, if Aragorn and Faramir are gonna have hot and scruffly mansex, then Arwen and Eowyn had best get in on the action too. Really, it does annoye me that women often get objectified and become awful when in fandom. Especially with RPF. Because there are like, no female canon characters.
