I'm back from the Midwest! I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I had a nice time visting my step mothers relatives in Chicago. It was very flat. And cold. Pretty different from California, lol. That's why I wanted to go, though. It was a good opportunity to cross another state off of my visited list.
We left for the airport on Wednesday morning. The whole flight was about five hours long and we got through it without too many complications. We had a short layover in Denver where we had to switch planes, but we got back on track pretty fast. We flew into the Chicago Midway International Airport. The only thing that sucked was that we arrived right around rush hour and got stuck in about two hours of traffic trying to make our way to my Aunt and Uncle's house in Northbrook.
Thursday was spent watching football before heading out for Thanksgiving dinner. My sister and I really have no intrest in sports, so our Aunt (who doesn't either) took us out to see The Muppets (which was super cute). That night we went to their cousins house in La Grange. They lived in a mansion. I'm not exaggerating, this was a massive, ten room, colonial style house. It was gorgeous! The meal was good and it was nice to meet a ton of new people.
On Friday we had the chance to do some sight seeing in Chicago. We stopped by this novelty shop called Uncle Funs and we also went to the The Field Museum. Both of which were really great, and we got a nice scenic tour of Chicago driving to and from these locations. When Saturday hit I was more than ready to head home. Like I said, it was nice to see family, but there's only so many random questions one can be asked. Anyway, moving on!
I kept seeing these billboards all along the freeway. It's a jewelry store advertising a special Twilight wedding ring. What the hell?
These guys were at the cousins house. They were so adorable! I got to hold them and everything. :)
At Uncle Funs. I about died laughing when I saw this.
Sue! The most complete reconstructed T-Rex skeleton found to date. It was really cool to see her in person.
Now it's back to the old grind. I hope everyone has a great week! ♥
