It's been awhile

It's been over a month since I posted. How pathetic.

I read my last entry from March 20. Not much has changed since, unfortunately. I still find myself feeling unbearably tired, fatigued and just without motivation to get anything reasonably accomplished.

I'm still a month behind in english class. Surprisingly (from what I've heard) I got the highest mark in the class on midterm. That mark is my lowest mark by far of all my highschool career. My midterm marks (which I'm not quite proud of)

=World Religions - 91 (if I had handed in the paper on vision quests on time, it would be like 3% higher :/)
=English - 81 (devastating mark, brought my average down like 4%)
=Biology - 95 (not bad)
=Physics (12) - 95 (pretty durn proud of this one, it's a hard course)
=Strings - 94 (eh :-/)

At least this isn't my graduating year. These marks aren't that significant except for my Physics mark since it's a grade 12 credit and will go on my admissions transcript. At least that mark I'm somewhat pleased with.

The weekend before last was allstar band. It was an interesting weekend with a mediocre conclusion. The preparation was a lot of fun, reminded me of the significance of the process of creating music. Even though the concert went well I wasn't at all satisfied with it overall. I really enjoyed every minute of rehearsals, they just went by way too fast :-/

Our concert program was as follows;
O Canada - C. Lavallee (arr Howard Cable)
> Is apparently the hardest arrangement for concert band available.
> Had some cool licks , and the low brass really gave this piece attention!
Green Shadows in the Woods - John Herbermen
> Slow, moody piece. Very pretty harmonies, lyrical ballad.
> I had a brief but exciting jazzy solo midway through :D
Appalachian Overture - James Barnes
> our challenge piece! very difficult, technically
> corny, western-style overture with catchy theme and beautiful coda.
Lyric Essay - Donald Coakley
> I think this was our hardest piece, very hard to tune and to keep flowing
> I love how our lower brass handled this
In Autumn Skies - Kamioka Youichi
> Japanese-written march, kind of predictable melody with interesting harmonizations
> Really crazy 16th note runs in this, about 2 lines worth of scaler patterns.
The Wizard of Oz - Arlen/Harburgh (Arr James Barnes)
> Difficult arrangement, we only prepared the last page and a bit (Somewhere over the Rainbow theme)
> Saxes had really neat lines in this, very enjoyable!!
