ALL THE WAY BACK TO LAST WEEK, DON'T WE ALL JUST LOVE IT WHEN I'M THIS FUCKING BUSY AND NEVER HAVE TIME TO UPDATE ANYMORE.
Wednesday (5/18) → Was awful, I was incredibly tired and sad but the (very small) bright spot is that I was so upset at other things, I was apathetic about work and the day went by quite quickly for how upset I was.
Thursday → My mom and I went to a Wizard of Oz ballet after work and it was so cool. The costumes oh my GOD. Most of the talent was okay but I kept thinking of how much more amazing it'd be if it were in New York or even in a more adult local ballet, they were fairly young, high school I'd say, which is fine but some of them were totally lacking. I could ignore it, though, since there were sparkles and shit falling everywhere and ruby pointe shoes were prancing about.
I came back from intermission to see a note on my chair on a gum wrapper - "Your photography is annoying as all. Relax and enjoy the show." 1.) annoying as all... hell? annoying as all what, 2.) I am more relaxed and enjoy things more through a camera lens than you ever will without one, and 3.) I get that it's annoying but I can think of three people off the top of my head who were annoyed by it until they saw what I turned out, and now seek me out and actually PAY me to be that "annoying". I stopped with a "whatever, it's totally their loss" mindset, at which point my mother picked up my camera and started shooting. ♥ ♥ ♥ I told her they would come out pure black because I forgot to change the settings after I took photos of tulips outside, but she took them anyway just to prove a point to that bitch.
Friday → Was huge!busy.
a.) Jason and I had a production meeting for our webseries at 8 in the am. Downtown. Hello rush hour like fuck. We wanted to just get a hotel room down there Thurs night but the ballet fucked it up so we just got up really early. It was a blast, though, you guys. We did a screen test with an actor in the form of an improv, in-character interview and the guy was perfect. We just sent him the character profile and he came dressed totally on point (in his wife's Superman shirt that was tight as hell, lol), and found ways to work in bits of his character that even I had forgotten about. So excited for this. Jason operated an HVX on a tripod and I shot HD handheld on my Nikon. Marc interviewed, and Sam lit/directed it and would pop in with random props like martinis and barbie dolls just to see how he dealt with them. We will be getting him a youtube channel once we cut the 45 minutes into segments and I will totally show you. For now though, have a glorious product of our faux-SRSBSNS photo shoot:
b.) I had a shoot with Deanna's one year old daughter at 11 and I barely made it on time. We rented a studio space - there's the coolest new place just down the road from me where you can rent a photography studio by the hour which is PERFECT for me right now because I prefer shooting on location instead of posey-studio crap BUT some people want that and also, in this instance, it was raining outside. So it was a blast, they had lighting and backdrops and props and everything. Also oh my GOD, you guys! Poor bb was afraid of my shutter!! I'd snap and her eyes would blink a lot and she'd flinch back IT WAS SO SAD! But oh my god they had this thing called "Lens Bling", it was like a little blue monster on a scrunchie that you put around your lens! I fucking DIED! The kid was a ball of energy constantly running around and away from my camera but I did my best, lol.
That night, Jason and I took my mom to Wizard of Oz improv (how much do I LOVE that Wizard of Oz is everywhere right now?!). And that needs to be locked so I'll write about it later but it was so much fun and SO so funny!~! As usual. We went out for ice cream afterward and then I screwed up my mom's lip because okay, she was being totally obnoxious and I was getting irritated but then she took chopsticks and stuck them in her mouth like a walrus and was taunting me lol. I tried to grab them but she'd back away at the last second and then come at me again. The last time she did it, I actually managed to hit one and it totally broke skin on the inside of her mouth. I felt bad but I was so taunted, okay.
I spent a lot of the weekend working on
Bring Lisa Back, which is now ill-focused so I have to restructure it somehow since I no longer feel like she wants her job back anyway. After seeing that heinous excuse for a finale, I wouldn't either. I had dinner at Jason's mom's on Sunday, his brothers are a lot to handle and I was irritated and uncomfortable, tbh. Food was good though, and his stepdad gave us a ~wine lesson~. He also asked us to give him some pics from the Paula trip so he can brag to his coworkers and patients. ♥
I'll write about this week soon and hopefully make this STOP FUCKING HAPPENING.
