For me, it's so much about the loss of dance. I think of how much dance I've gotten from him and his music and that's why I'm kind of ripped up right now. You can't go to a dance competition without hearing him, I can't take a set of convention classes

This is probably not going to sound right, but even though he had the tour planned (I heard it had been cancelled already? idk, if not I was still concerned that he wasn't fit enough to play 50 stadium dates), I think that in terms of new contributions, people lost him a long time ago. He's had a lot of health problems and his status to people has been resting on the past for a long time. I think that a lot has been lost for a long time, is what I'm saying. But the impact he HAS made never will be.
And I'm sad for the people who looked up to him, too. Because I do know how that feels - to both look up to someone, obviously, and for someone who's brought something important to you into your life to die suddenly. I was absolutely crushed when one of the Frasier creators died in Sept 11th. I mean, I don't know what I'd have done without that show, and without him I'd never have had it, so. It's a personal thing.
