Well, personally, I just wasn't a fan of Adam's style of music. He isn't an album I'd be interested in, artistic awesomeness or not. Kris's sound is something I can relate to. I can't tell you why I'm drawn to singer/songerwriters, or why it's what comes out of my lips when I pick up my guitar or sit down at the piano, but I have to admit that I feel a little bit inferior reading this entry. I know you didn't mean it that way at all, because that's just not Liss. But IDK. IDK.

I totally appreciate Adam for being different, for being artistic, for pushing the limits and being unafraid of the consequences. And I can totally appreciate his homosexuality, because duh. Justine isn't exactly the straightest apple of the pick. :) But me preferring Kris has nothing to do with Adam as a person and simply what ~I~ find myself relating to musically.

I guess I just hate that now, because Adam lost, everyone will jump to the assumption that the "religious people" need to be blamed because he's gay and that's just not. right. I suppose that's the reason why Clay Aiken lost, too, huh? (sarrrrcasm)

Maybe Adam lost because 3/5 Americans wanted to hear Kris. But IDK, that's just me having a lot of faith in people that maybe I shouldn't even have.

BLAH. I AM SORRY. I am so freaking stressed out and tired tonight, and I didn't mean for any of this to come off bitchy. Wasn't trying to be bitchy. Was trying to be truly sad that this conclusion is going to arise everywhere. Watch. The next headlines of Entertainment magazine will be "ADAM LOSES BECAUSE OF HE'S GAY".

*points to icon* Clay's still got plenty of fans. ^^ I'll always think he's cute as hell and has an amazing voice, gay or not ... come on, realistically, even if he'd been straight, I don't think I'd have been in with a chance. heh. Doesn't mean I just stop liking the guy. I've followed him for years, been to concerts - half the reason I love him is how goddamn funny and natural with an audience he is. His sexual orientation changes none of that.

30 Rock pleased my little fangirl heart. He's adorable. Or adorkable. Either does it for me.

Adam's going to be fine. I think the underdog thing as much as the "gay" thing did for him last night (I've only watched a few episodes but I disliked the massive pimping of Adam I saw from the judges, even if I did think he was far and away the most talented guy on the stage, with the most unique sound. Tongue baths from the judges are not attractive to watch, though - let me make up my own mind, please, I don't need anybody holding my hand into a decision). But yeah - Adam will most likely outsell Kris by a fair margin if Clay and Jennifer Hudson are anything to go by.

I know his not getting the title stings. I still smart over Clay losing. Yeah, I know, give it up already huh? (Picking on the guy seems to be a media sport, which pisses me off - I've already read articles saying that if Adam comes out soon he'll be "more of a man" than Clay - give me a break, Clay was a kid from the South who was still trying to work out who he was and was only for the first time stepping into an atmosphere where "gay" didn't equal "aberrant" in public opinion - but I digress). At least Adam isn't stuck with the crappy coronation song. And if there are people out there who did vote for Kris over him because of his orientation, I guess all we can do is hope that attitudes will change.
