Here we go again... :-)
Mmm.. weekend. I failed to write on moriden's story, sew (or cut or dye) on Lirrianna's costume, or pot my new plants.
However, I succeeded in other things!
Saturday, we went driving up Route 13, sort of exploring. We found a Bulk Foods Store (bought powdered soup mix, Amish Butter Cheese, and bay leaves), an Agway (bought part of someone's Winter present), a nursery (bought plants: basil, mint, and sage; and food: giant 3-lb onion and some yams), and an overpriced used book barn (bought nothing). Then we went back to the good book barn (Phoenix Books) and, failing to find anything from the authors I was looking for, bought two new things that looked good.
Sunday we woke up early, made breakfast, made lunch, drove to Watkins Glen State Park and climbed up the side of a gorge with Dan & Wade, who we met there. As our hikes go, it was pretty mellow, but it was also a lot of fun, and gorgeous. Watkins Glen has these little cavern parts of the trail where it's actually been cut into the mountain, and arts where the trail goes behind the waterfalls... beautiful! I can't wait for our next hike!
We skipped the movie-of-the-week this weekend, as the reviews for Speed Racer sucked, and, after a decent Forbidden Kingdom and a fun ride of Iron Man, I don't want to ruin the rush too early in the season.
