Apathy

I worry about you and this sometimes. You are also so ... exuberant, so happy, that when the apathy seems to be getting hold of you it seems worse than when it bites me. After all, apathy is just another form of depression, and lord knows I've dealt with enough of that!

Apathy, for me, is that sense of "drag:" not momentum, as Sam points out, because momentum means when you start going, you keep going. But drag... slowly dragging to a stop and then just staying stopped. It's one of the things I've been working on learning not to do this year, and one of my biggest banes.

Albania?

Wasn't that the country at "war" in Wag the Dog? Honestly, I know nothing at all about Albania ( ... )

Apples. Duh. Crisp, juicy, sweet-tart, red, gold, green, APPLES ! ! ! ! Sun-warmed, slightly dusty skins, eating till I'm sick and then picking more than I can carry APPLES ! ! ! ! ! !

Fresh apples, apple pie, apple dumplings, apple cake, applesauce, applesauce donuts, apple turnovers, apple crisp, stewed apples, hot apple cider, cold apple cider, mulled apple cider.

Apples.

Formerly known as "bapples" by my little one when she couldn't properly pronounce a word starting with a vowel and inserted a random consonant.

K eats an apple a day and whines when we run out. M is starting this, too. I think I'll go eat an apple. Got some Winesaps at Costco the other day - been keeping them in the fridge like a good NY'er. :)

Mmm... apples. Apple crisp, real apple cider (neither of which I've had yet this season!)

(A is also for Autumn...)

What's your favorite kind of apple?

We go to Apple Annie's and get at least two gallons. Want to come over sometime and drink heartily?

It's illegal to sell the unpasturized stuff in NY State now... that's what I mean by "the real stuff."

But I'd love to come drink cider with you!

*laughs* "C" isn't 'till Friday! But, sure. Sometime next week?

What a neat little group of words you have. I wonder if I can turn them into a freewrite poem?

Hrmm...

Monday at 7? If it's Starry Nights, I can do Mondays.

Otherwise, Tuesday at whenever-you're-ready would be better for me.

Apples. Aardvarks. Alleys. Allegory (can't spell that one). Alterations. Admitting. Altruism.
