In Which Our Heros Walk Just a Little Too Far...

...Ow. :-)

Wade & Dan-Dan & the Dragon & I went hiking again yesterday. This was... a little longer & a little more uphill (both ways!) than was really comfortable for me (my ass, my hips, my shoulders, and my knees are screaming today)... but I'm glad to have done it.

See trails 9, 10, and 10A on that map? Yeah, we hiked all of that (and twice on parts). What that picture doesn't show you is a scale... the short branch of 9 is a mile, if that gives you any idea.

This is the first hike with that much pure push of my abilities... I really wasn't quite sure how I kept going on the last part. Hills still kill me (going to practice on off weeks in Mt. Hope now)... and my body hurts everywhere today (even my brain is foggy!)... but I'm (hey, I said that alread)... Really glad we did it.

The colours were beautiful, the leaves turning, the gorge breathtaking. It is so good to be getting outside regularly, out away from people, out by water.

And one more map..

The red line isn't us, but it does show a little better...
We started at that red part by Dygert Road, looped around up to 10, did all of 10 (the Big Bend, not all shown on this road), went up 10A (that connection to 9 does not exist!), back down 10A, down the other (leftermost) branch of 9, then down 8 (a road) 'till we found Wade's car.

Wow.
