I'm re-reading DeLint's Someplace to be Flying, and something Jack Daw said made me think.

This is mostly for the men, 'cause I see malepeople doing this more than female people, but it's not aimed at any one specific person.

Don't ever make the mistake of thinking you know how someone else should live their own life. You may have had more years of experience - but you're not in her shoes. Even if you're right, if she's going to get hurt if she follows the path she's on, she can't learn from your mistakes. She can only learn from her own.

I'm not dunning advice, simply suggesting learning when enough is enough - and damning the arrogance that makes people assume they know better than someone else.
