mmmm long time no update. anyway, i'm procrastinating on finishing my history essay right now, so naturally i'm in the mood to post.
basically, in the past week my parents and i have decided what i am going to do this summer. i'm going to go to the international music academy at pilsen, in the czech republic, for three weeks following my gbyso tour. it turns out that i don't even have to necessarily make a tape, since mr. forough automatically accepted me into his studio (i studied with him at bowdoin international music festival last summer). and abey might be coming too. so basically, czech republic + no parents + violin + studying with mr. forough = INCREDIBLE. i'm pretty much in a state of shock that my parents are OK with this.
on the other hand, i've kind of been having problems with my right forearm for the past week, which is troubling. i guess some minor nerve/muscle damage resulting from overuse? (which probably means that i shouldn't be typing right now... but i'm already writing a paper, so) anyway, i might see a physical therapist, especially since in the next few weekends i only have 3421039780937 hours of cosi rehearsals. BUT in the meantime i've just been taking a lot of ibuprofin and icing it every now and then.
i've realized lately that i don't really have that many thoughts that aren't related to music. with a few exceptions, most of my good friends are from gbyso or other music-related things. and i'm just realizing that in a year, i'll be taking auditions at different music schools and deciding where i want to end up. kind of frightening, but i really can't wait. i want to be a music major so badly.
oh and one last - surprise, surprise - music-related thing: at my lesson today, michael gave me the first movement of the ysaye "obsession" sonata to do as an etude!!!! instead of my boring rode caprices!!!! so then naturally i called charlotte and we talked about how we both were at the hilary hahn recital a couple of years ago where she played it and how the dies irae and bach quotes are just so cool. haha. i love being an absolute geek.
