WGA strike

Well that IS interesting, LisiBee. I had heard that the writers got no residuals for the online viewing and downloading. The networks make us watch ads before viewing - they would never think of just GIVING it to us, for FREE, yet they expect the writers, who actually CREATE the content people are paying money for, to let the networks have it for free. And it's not just a matter of "now" online viewing is a lot more popular - were it only ONE person, the writer deserves compensation - it was the WRITER who motivated the viewer to cough over his hard-earned dollars.

Now that networks are seeing fewer and fewer TV viewers watching ads, skipping them by using TiVo or DVRs, they're going to promote the online viewing, since we kind of have to watch the ads (just like the old days, before we could fast forward them), advertisers are going to pour more money into online viewing, and the networks will rake in more revenue, and they are attempting to keep all that money for themselves. It just reeks of greed.

And that's good to know about Facebook. I had no idea, and I sure won't be opening one. It makes me think twice about posting anything online.
