things that happened recently, in some kind of random disorder:

kneedrawp was in town for PAX! we got to hang out & he crashed on The Sofa of Comfortable Death & he completed a full set of PAX-specific cards against humanity for me. we also ate delicious food with sic737 (& gorthok, obviously) at poppy's.

I am 95% sure I heard a tribute to Josh Burdette by one of the DJs on one of the Sirius XM metal channels.

Also ever since I lost a friend to suicide I have been basically risking losing friendships every single time someone says something even remotely suicidey. Because I would rather someone think I am a smothery creepshow than run the risk of not taking signs seriously enough. :( Fuck

On the plus side, all the other things here are pretty much amazing. Great dreadstyle, awesome Philippines and Mexico, nice EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH JACKET!!! oh dude

yeah, you probably did. he was pretty big in the club scene - google his name & you'll find all kinds of minor celeb tributes.

exactly - i've done a lot of "hey, if that's in fun then yay, but if you're even 1% serious about it then i am all about answering that call & being a friend to you." at any given time, i've got a list of folks who need me to help guide them to good choices (seeking therapy, eating healthfully, quitting destructive habits, ceasing to hate themselves, et cetera), & once they make it through, then i'm given the best reward of all - a really kickass friendship.

I'm also sorry about your friend. I can't even claim to know what it would be like to lose a friend that way. I've never lost a friend so I can't even really say I know what it's like to lose someone in general. Unless you count my grandma with dementia who doesn't even know I'm trans as losing someone, I can only imagine that losing a friend to suicide is more pain than anyone can handle. I'm sorry that's a pain you have to experience.
