Time to start committing for Gothic Consequences
Hey, all you people of a USian persuasian who said you'd be interested in attending Gothic Consequences:
Now is the time to start making plans.
* First of all, registering for the convention. Lo and behold, the PayPal button is actually up :)
* I would not recommend buying plane tickets right now, as prices are ABSURDLY high right now for some reason. Kayak.com tells me that they will come down (with a 60% CI), however, so I am going to hold out for a bit longer.
* HOWEVER, I did get an email from queenortart yesterday, asking if I wanted to be in her lodge or if I was arranging my own. I told her I was arranging my own, because I still hope to put together an American lodge. Don't make a liar out of me!
These are the lodge prices for Thurs-Sun night accommodation:
2 bed early bird £234, after 31-Aug-2013 £256
3 bed early bird £267, after 31-Aug-2013 £282
4 bed early bird £360, after 31-Aug-2013 £380
Those are number of rooms, not beds, I believe - judging by the 4 bedroom lodge I was in last year, there are two rooms with double beds, suitable for couples or very close people :), and two rooms with two single beds. (I think. I have an email to Sue to confirm this).
In addition to the price of the lodge, which would be split between all people (the more, the cheaper!), there would also be some costs for food for the lodge. The lodges have full kitchens, so it's generally most budget-conscious to buy a bunch of food for the lodge and cook there, if time permits.
So - let me know here, on other social media, or by email, if you're in. I'll post again sooner to the early-bird deadline, but the sooner I start getting people on board with this, the cheaper everything will be.
Obviously you don't have to be American to get in on this lodge, but I thought the Brits I knew would probably already have accommodation worked out :)
