I am so pissed at myself for morning games, ugh. Had I realized it was frakking 8am, I would not have signed up. I hope I will have enough time to set up snlb. (are we still on to bourke the body prop?)
Hear hear. But we'll all be in the same boat, and there is a hour between the morning and afternoon games - and there's food within easy walking distance, so you can go get a sandwich or a burger or [insert typical college student union food here] and be back in 20 to set up for the next 40.
If you want any help figuring out logistics or whatnot for that, let me know - I'm going to be doing basically the same thing for setting up ATWAG, but since I actually graduated from RPI, I like to think I know where things are. :)
thanks!! one of our three GMs for our afternoon game doesn't have a morning game, so hopefully he can on the ball. maybe i can get him to grab food for all of us and have it ready to go when costumed henchmen is over. i figure i'll be bailing on any wrapup, but I can bug thorin for that any time.
looks like the games are all in one building? is it the one that 1897 was in? that's the only time i've been to RPI. which building contains the foods?
Must admit it doesn't exactly fill one with confidence now that we're at two players who've forgotten being in it. Had a signup for Palindrome that had been in it, and forgotten, as well...
Well, on the positive side, it must not be so horrible an experience people can't forget it no matter how they try. So there's that at least. ;-P
Be interesting to see how the one big change we've got lined up for the character you were cast as works out... Trying to engineer a character growth arc through heavy handed walking metaphor bit of plot. Which I'm certain makes captainecchi frown since it involves a GM NPC, and thus too much GM interference. *g*
Eh... you're really too hung up on this over 100 items metric. That's four items per player, which is certainly not an unusually high number (not low, but definitely not 'OMG, I have a lot of items' range). Factor in the number of erased but not renumbered's missing, item cards for set pieces... it's really not that amazingly massive. *shrug
( ... )
Yeah, it's a bit gm intensive, but with *5* GMs, I think it's going to be fine.
Probably too late for this run, but one thing that would cut down on GM work is if you gave out timed contingency envelopes the way we do in SNLB and other gamtex games, so that you don't have to have a GM actively on that...
Last night was my major crunch night for ATWAG - happily, it is all done. Your game will be awesome - people are looking forward to it, and it will be fun no matter what. :) Worry not!
Re: lots of mechanics/items/whatever - I find that if they are flavorful, then that is just fine. I get the feeling that a Victorian/Harry Potter blend game actually suits having lots of fiddly bits just dandy. And if you do in fact have 5 GMs, then more power to you - that is an excellent GM/player ratio.
Also, if it helps, I looked over your player list and 90% of them are literally from the RPI area, and 5% of them are me and Sarah J, who are driving up together and leaving VERY EARLY to get there ahead of time. (Leaving at noon for what will probably be a 3-3.5 hour drive.) The others have been to RPI before, if I recall correctly, and should know how to get there with a minimum of shenanigans.
Be at ease, it will all work out in the end! *thumbs up*

I don't know how that escaped me when we were just talking about it around Better Off Dead time. Total brainfart, I guess!
