Methotrexate, Day 2.1

Apr 26, 2010 15:54

Hello nausea and headache. So not good to see you again.

Probably did not eat enough before taking dose today, but I have wristbands on now and a good supply of innocuous foods for later. Yes, it is possible to be nauseous and starving at the same time. Aren't bodies wonderful?

The worst part of the side effects from an experience standpoint so far is the daily, bone-deep fatigue and headaches. It's not as bad as it could be, but there's just no way to effectively manage it. I feel like I am exhausted all the time and sleep is not restful, no matter how much I get. I suspect that I will eventually be able to adapt to that, but that's unlikely to happen until the dosage stabilizes and I've lived with it for a good long while. The headaches are mild, as such things go, but draining nonetheless, and combine with the fatigue to make me feel even more tired. It's sort of like having the flu - even minor tasks are simply exhausting. My sleep is disrupted as well, but it's hard to say what's causing that. Some people have reported sleep disruption on MTX as a side effect, but I've got so many stressors going right now that I don't think it's entirely related to the MTX.

New rule: grocery order and cleaning out the fridge must happen before Monday. A big part of not eating enough was needing to accomplish that before I dosed, and my already sensitive sense of smell is heightened now.
