Its times like these I wish I had an older brother.
We're painting my room at my dad's house, and when I say "we" I mean me. My goal was to get the ceiling done before I left, and it looks like its actually going to happen! Painting ceilings absolutely SUCKS. My neck and arms are so sore, and I got paint speckles on my contacts (not to mention everywhere else as well). However, while I was slaving away, the song "Kokomo" by the Beach Boys came on- you know the one where they talk about all the pretty beaches and takin it slowwoww way down in Kokomo- and I was reminded that I'm leaving for my cruise in a few days!! YAY!!
Which then reminded me of my little known fear of large boats. Its really more of a slight anxiety than a debilitating fear, but it nags the back of my mind none the less. I think I'll be fine; I was fine on the band cruise in high school and that was a much smaller boat. Maybe I've seen Titanic one too many times (which was on TV last Sunday, thank you jerks at NBC) but I just don't like the idea of not seeing land. If I can see land, I could hypothetically swim to it. Hypothetically. Even if its miles away. Whatever, its comforting. I'm sure I will be too distracted by the fruity drinks, casino and pools to even notice, though.
Maybe they'll have an ab machine in the work-out room. One can only hope...
