I've been on a stitching kick since early February. I started off with a new project that I picked up at a sorta local needlework shop (Toluca Lake is a lot more local to me than Alameda, CA, but it's still a drive!! We just happened to be up in the area and I'd seen the shop before, so we finally stopped in).
Spring Basket, from Lizzie*Kate
There's a charm I still need to sew on, had to order it because I didn't notice when I bought the pattern, and it just came in the other day. But for the most part, this is done.
As I was finishing up this one, I decided I should also finish up another little project that's been sitting around forever, and so that was
my next project.
As expected, it worked up in just a couple hours, since it was already about 75% done. I'm awful about getting distracted and not coming back to things.
October Flip-It, from Lizzie*Kate
While trying to find a floss color that had gone missing for the October project, I ran across a bunch more almost but not quite done projects, and so I picked the next one to finish because he was small and seemed like he'd be quick to work up. Then I realized how much harder stitching on 32 count is than 28. I had to take off my glasses to do this one up (they are for distance), but I managed to get him done during the Olympics.

After that, I picked out another half-done winter-themed one, but ended up missing some fibers and a proper beading needle to finish him up. So, at the moment, he looks like this:
'Tis The Season, from Dinky Dyes
There are lots of beads and gold braid to be stitched yet, and some fuzzy white "Whisper" floss to stitch up the brim of his Santa hat. I have had the parts for a couple weeks now, but when I got stuck, I moved on to another project. I'll be back to working on him again soon.
The next project is a restart of one I'd originally started on fabric I didn't care for, so technically it's a 'new' project, but to me it's an old one. I've got it all stitched up, but when I went to put the charms on Saturday night, the little baggie they were in had gone missing. I'm still hoping they'll turn up (maybe they're under the sofa!), but if not, at least the design doesn't look incomplete without them.
Sunshine Sampler, by Lizzie*Kate
I bought this one last time we went to Ocean City, NJ, about 4 years ago. I'm happy to have it all done in time for our next trip, which will be this June.
So, the track record as it stands for 2010,
New Projects Started: 2
Old projects finished:2
Pending old project: 1
Not bad, for me! LOL!!! After I finish the Christmas Kitty, I'm not really sure what I'll start next. I have one little project I want to do up as a gift for someone, so maybe that will be the one. I think I have a couple months, and it's small, but I know I get sidetracked!
And so now you know what's been taking up some of my time these past couple months. I've also been playing World of Warcraft with a friend, and watching a lot of movies (mostly while I'm stitching).
