So.... what *have* I been doing for the past 21 weeks? Let's see...
I went to MN for my high school best friend's wedding. In Minnesota, on the St. Croix river, on the top deck of a yacht, in October. Cold is an understatement, but actually it was colder and even snowed the day before.... we had sun and a warm 50 degrees for the wedding! It was very nice, and I got to visit with friends I hadn't seen in some time, so I enjoyed it.
The week after I got home from MN, I managed to wrench my right knee in my sleep, and it took about 3 months to totally heal up. That sucked. I probably should have gone to see a doctor about it and maybe could've gotten it healed up faster; but I hate docs and so I didn't. I saw my cardiologist about a week after it happened and he felt it and recommended ice and elevation to get the swelling down, which did help some.
My mom turned 74 in December, and since I hadn't actually gone up to see her in 5 years or so, I made plans. Yes, to go to Washington state in December. I'm a sucker for punishment, and man it was cold! Between the cold and my knee, it wasn't the most fun trip, but Mom was happy to see me, and the look on her face when I called her on her birthday to wish her happy b'day and then walked in her front door was truly priceless.
We had a quiet Christmas and New Year. Oh, and Sam took me out to a very nice dinner in November for our anniversary. And on Valentine's day he got me flowers and chocolates and a sweet card. I feel so spoiled and loved!
Last month I got the cross stitch bug again, after a failed attempt at knitting (I sort of figured it out, but surrendered after realizing that a sock project was way too advanced for a true newbie), and proceeded to start and finish one small project, then finish up two more that had been languishing in my stash as UFOs for years. Picked up a third UFO to work on but ended up not having all of the supplies, and so I re-started yet another that I wasn't happy with the fabric on (both the type and the color of the fabric just weren't what I wanted). I currently have that one just about halfway done, in a little over a week.
Rather than posting pictures here, I'll point you over to my
Flickr stream where you can see what I've been doing the past few weeks. I love being able to snap a pic with my phone, email it, and have it show up on my stream. I am the queen of lazy and procrastination, so that makes it sooooo easy!
I am currently baking chocolate chip cookies for Sam to have for lunches (if they last that long!), and will be making dinner in a couple hours, and maybe watching LOST later. Nothing terribly exciting.
Excuse me, the cookies are calling.... :)
