Bloomingdale Avenue School Visit

Mar 05, 2010 09:46

Sometimes I get so engrossed in my visit and spend lots of time talking to kids and staff, that the day is over before you know it. Unfortunately, when that happens, I don't get to walk around much and take pictures. Although I have no pictures of

I have lots of fond memories! This is the third school I visited in Cranford, NJ. What a dynamic school it is! Lots of energy! Tracey Tully is a PTA member who rocks! She organized the entire day (and was the chair of Dr. Seuss Night) and made sure it ran smoothly. If you've never organized an author day, it's a huge undertaking. She made sure the teachers read my books beforehand, visited my webpage, sent out book orders,(I signed 75 books for the kids! Wow!) sent me perfect directions, ordered lunch, and a billion other things!

Regina Gavin, the principal, has lots to be proud of. A great school starts at the top!

More than any other school I visited, I've received dozens and dozens of emails about my visit from the kids and their families. I can't thank them enough for taking time out of their day to write to me!

Bloomingdale Avenue School Rocks! (Rest up, Tracey!)
