Wow so my Anthropology teacher told us today about when he went on archeological digs and research in Belize he came back over the Belize-Mexico border and got put in Mexican jail for smuggling 38 bottles of rum from Belize. And Cuban cigars. He was telling us how Cuban cigars are great, but to smoke them in Belize before you come back over to Mexico or other countries, because he said the worst thing in the world is looking down the barrel of a Mexican jail hall. But he also told us to travel to Tikal once in our lives and to go to Belize City and drink rum and coke and stay in a beach-side cabana for $10 American a night, just don't drink the water, it's instant death, that is why you drink the rum. Interesting. Let's see
Flight to Belize : Approx $1100 roundtrip
Belizian rum : Approx $15 for a big bottle
Cuban cigars in Belize : Approx $12 / 6
Beachside simple living with free (safe) food : $10-$20 / night
I know where I want to go this summer. And plus we can go to Tikal and go to the pyramids. Wow. I think I might go. Who's with me?
