Alexander last night with Noah.

Try after try, filmmakers try to perfect the "Ancient Epic" film. Like Gladiator, Troy, Alexander, you know. The best and first was Gladiator, they should've stopped there. It didn't try to be all hero-y, there was not much fighting but a great story line. Troy. Hot men, too many, wow sensory overload. But, Brad Pitt's fake accent was terrible, and it just seemed a little corny to me. Alexander comes in 2nd place I would have to say. I do not think Colin Farrell is hot, but Jared Leto sure is. God damn. This movie's fight scenes were really good - they fought in the desert once and it was all dusty and the visuals were amazing. The chariots like in Gladiator had the swords on the wheels, and instead of cutting someone in half they just cut up body parts and it was just cool (as bad as that may sound ...). The fighting scene in the forest with the elephants was so visually rich, lots of colors, and the action was awesome. It was really gory, definately the most gory of the 3 movies. Colin Farrell, as much of a prat I think he is in real life, he was amazing in this movie. His little pep talk to his troops was good. He did a great job, the fighting was awesome. Also, I loved that it wasn't always Greeks vs. Romans, Greeks vs. Greeks, whatever, like it was in Troy and Gladiator. It was Greeks/Macedonians vs. Indians, Persians, Asians ... just different and really cool. Val Kilmer was in it, which I was unaware of, but he was awesome, duh. Angelina Jolie did well, too, her character as Alexander's Mom was interesting and really kinda evil in a cool way. All in all ... Alexander was just another epic movie, with cliched "Fight for your country!" lines, and A LOT of HOMOSEXUALITY in it. He kisses one guy who already looks like a girl, and I swear to God he was going to sleep with Jared Leto by the end. I looked at Noah at one point and said, "Soooo gay ..." not gay as in lame but gay as in GAY! Haha it was fun.

Disclaimer : IT DRAGS. It's LONG. But I liked it.
