So then I got a whole slew of people being like "You're ridiculous. You already have your septum, what difference does it make?!" and "IF YOU REALLY WANTED IT, YOU WOULDN'T WORRY!"
Fuck you, you're wrong.
You have to be an idiot NOT to worry about things like that when you make a big change to your appearance.

So im an idiot because i dont worry about what people think? People that have no real right to judge me since they dont know me at all? It seems idiotic to me (not saying you're an idiot) to worry about what other people think, when they have no right to think it. You know?

If you're worried about that kind of stuff, maybe you're not totally ready for it.

If they truly loved me, they'd understand that these things make me happy

I have a family that loves me, i have a girlfriend that loves me, i have a job that loves to have me around. People come to me when they have problems. How you look should not have an affect on your life, other than you liking it.

Love is about you, not how you look. Anyone who can't see that is undeserving.

I know what you mean about the job situation. I will be a server/network administrator, and the way i look will make it hard for me to establish experience. Its sad that it has to be that way, but it does. It's just something that comes with this life style.

Anyways, you're adorable. I doubt a few little scars would hinder jobs.

(This might be a little off topic [and might just my morals coming into play], but you might want to quit the pot before you get into the business world.)

And i know what you mean about hurting your family. My grandma hated what i did. But the pain is only temporary, they get used to it because they love you. Well, in my case they did.

Poor Shannon, he does is his with modblog and such to represent everyone-- but he can never win.
I'd be interested in seeing what he had to say to that.

I know he has a lot more females to chose from (regardless of how modified they are) than males, but I think he has a much wider range in type and amount of modification in males.

But I think that may have been what you were getting at?

haha Definitely.
He admits that he needs to post more of what OTHER people find attractive all the time.
Doesn't bug me, I usually use modblog as a jumping off point to other stuff I feel like looking at.

Do guys often worry about being thought of as attractive and cute?

Very much so.

I think when girls approach modification, especially if they don't consider themselves "heavily modified" the question of how others perceive us becomes a big deal because we're taught by society to groom ourselves to be attractive to the opposite sex.

The thing is, if you're wanting to be modified, you're already wanting to step outside of this societies values. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (sorry to be so cliché). Who is to say what is attractive? As you start to step out of societies values like this, you'll start to realize that people still think you are attractive. It almost seems to go hand in hand, to a certain point at least.
