I don't know if anyone has seen the news yet, but I just got a call from my Mom warning me about a story that will be on tonight. Our very good, lifelong friend who has always been more like family to us (he's 64) was the victim of a terrible road rage incident last night. He was backing out of his sister in law's driveway and didn't see a car coming down the road very quickly. The drive of the other car had to skid to avoid hitting our friend, got angry and got out of his car, yelling and screaming at our friend. He also got out of his car (we know, not smart) and they exchanged words. There was a witness who saw all of this from across the street. The man then started punching and hitting our friend, breaking his nose, an eye socket, and causing other major trauma. The passenger in the car then yelled something to the driver to get him back in the car and they sped away, leaving our friend lying on the road. The witness ran to the sister and told her to call 911. Apparently she ran outside, and right behind her was her young son who saw his uncle lying there, half dead in the roadway. He is now at Harborview in critical condition. We are all so upset. They did not catch the people that did this as the witness couldn't get a good description of the vehicle. I am asking that everyone take a moment and think good thoughts for our friend and his family. And please remember, NOTHING is worth getting that angry about.
